Just a thought for fun...
Not sure if Pete Carroll would even consider Michigan but....
Let's say Rich Rod gets another year, then perhaps gets fired. Pete Carroll will be a bottom feeder in the NFC West next year and anyone with a clue knows he left because of the USC scandal. Carroll gets canned, and wishes to return back to college and Michigan could possibly be the highest profile job with the most recruiting power nest season.

Not sure which part of that is pleasant.

Carroll gets canned

Singapore style.
December 14th, 2010 at 9:57 AM ^
No thanks. I'll pass.

Coach Pete is a fun coach, but U of M is far too classy an organization to ever consider him. He's the John Calipari of college football
December 14th, 2010 at 9:58 AM ^
Yeah, lets all wish for another mediocre season so that our coach gets fired and we can try to steal a Head Coach from an NFL team.
I have my fingers crossed.

...whose program committed major (major) violations during his tenure. Just what we need.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:23 AM ^
Wasn't Carrol cleared of any wrongdoing much in the same way as RR was cleared of any wrongdoing with our major violations?
December 14th, 2010 at 10:42 AM ^
Carroll was "cleared" of wrongdoing because of lack of concrete evidence pointing at him. RR was cleared of wrongdoing because of concrete evidence that contradicted the original charge (and not exactly cleared, either, just hit with the equivalent of a misdemeanor instead of a felony.)
There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Carroll ran the dirtier program, though.
December 14th, 2010 at 11:22 AM ^
The guy who paid Reggie Bush (and the key/lone witness for the NCAA allegations) specifically testified that Pete Carroll never knew anything about their arrangement, that he had never met Carroll, and that he intentionally tried to hide the arrangement from Carroll.
December 14th, 2010 at 11:31 AM ^
I don't think anyone is arguing that USC was dirtier than Michigan. The question was about the head coach's involvement in the major violations. Both were cleared by the NCAA.
If I read your response correctly, In other words the two situations are different b/c RR is the head coach of the school we are all fans of...
December 14th, 2010 at 12:07 PM ^
...Carroll was cleared or not? There's simply no way Michigan would replace one HC involved in "major" violations with another HC whose program committed major violations (especially at the level perpetrated by USC) under his watch.
December 14th, 2010 at 1:46 PM ^
I've got an even BETTER idea. Try this master plan to take over the collegiate football universe:
Bill Bellicheck as our HC
Chip Kelly runs the O
We time warp Vince Lombardi back to run the D
We dont need a special teams coach cause we never punt and go for 2 on every TD
You tell me that wouldn't just RAWK. And I think we can pull it off.....afterall...we're MEECHIGAN for God's sake.
December 14th, 2010 at 9:58 AM ^
miss two bowls because we suck in the beginning, than miss two bowls because we're ineligible at the end

Right now, your only wishful thought should be about MSU getting Denarded on Jan 1st.
December 14th, 2010 at 11:34 AM ^
On the radio a couple weeks ago, Brian said that anyone looking to Alabama and Nick Saban as a model for M football should "immediately leave the fanbase."
I wonder what he'd say about Pete Carroll and USC given the violations that took place on Carroll's watch.
I have a hunch that it would be something similar.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:01 AM ^
made my ass twitch. We have a coach. His name is Rich. STFU.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:02 AM ^
Please god make it stop!!!

I was hoping for something fun and exciting, like this:
Please add "CC"!
December 14th, 2010 at 10:04 AM ^
That absolute snake of a smug human being is the last thing I want for this program. He orchestrated the downfall of USC for the next 2 years or so, slithered out with that shit eating grin of his that I HATE so much, then got more money, and no punishment.
That is not a pleasant thought, go away.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:04 AM ^
Prrrrrretty sure that UofM would NEVER hire Pete Carrol under any circumstance. Just sayin...
December 14th, 2010 at 10:05 AM ^
k thx
December 14th, 2010 at 10:05 AM ^
Yeah so that Dee Hart, and Denard get their Heismans taken away as well?
December 14th, 2010 at 10:06 AM ^
I would rather have Rick Moranis coach Michigan football than Pete Carroll, and he's CANADIAN for cryin' out loud.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:08 AM ^
How could having Vince Clortho, the Keymaster of Gozer be a bad thing for the program? Plus he could also shrink sweatervest to microscopic size, lets see him recruit after that.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:15 AM ^
will this kid design the plays?
If not, I don't want him.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:25 AM ^
Just imagine to possibility of Denard and Dee running the "Annexation of Puerto Rico"
December 14th, 2010 at 10:07 AM ^
I may be one of the poster children for stupid posts, but at least my stupid posts wouldn't spell disaster for the football team. No, nein, nada, never, bad idea, abort.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:10 AM ^
This would only be a wishful thought if it were Ohio State firing their coach and hiring Pete Carroll.

for the rest of the day is more CC posts that make absolutely no sense what so ever. To to OP even in jest or sarcasim this post would not be funny.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:18 AM ^
if you change the title and make it seem as if you were kidding, that would make it a better post. Wrong
December 14th, 2010 at 10:21 AM ^
Really? What made you think of this? Why would we want a coach that was involved with a college that had major NCAA violations? No thanks, no matter what happens next year, I say no to Carroll.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:33 AM ^
"I would rather pack my rectum full of M-80's and squat over a flaming Hibachi than have Pete Carroll as the coach of Michigan."
December 14th, 2010 at 10:44 AM ^
It's fucking awesome that a legitimate (yet OT) post about the Phillies signing Cliff Lee is deleted, yet a piece of shit, stupid post like this is allowed to remain up.
December 14th, 2010 at 10:45 AM ^
Please negbang the hell out of the OP for this post. This is absolutely ridiculous.
