Just a thought for fun...

Not sure if Pete Carroll would even consider Michigan but....

Let's say Rich Rod gets another year, then perhaps gets fired.  Pete Carroll will be a bottom feeder in the NFC West next year and anyone with a clue knows he left because of the USC scandal.  Carroll gets canned, and wishes to return back to college and Michigan could possibly be the highest profile job with the most recruiting power nest season.

Carroll was "cleared" of wrongdoing because of lack of concrete evidence pointing at him.  RR was cleared of wrongdoing because of concrete evidence that contradicted the original charge (and not exactly cleared, either, just hit with the equivalent of a misdemeanor instead of a felony.)

There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Carroll ran the dirtier program, though.

I don't think anyone is arguing that USC was dirtier than Michigan.  The question was about the head coach's involvement in the major violations.  Both were cleared by the NCAA.

If I read your response correctly, In other words the two situations are different b/c RR is the head coach of the school we are all fans of...

...Carroll was cleared or not? There's simply no way Michigan would replace one HC involved in "major" violations with another HC whose program committed major violations (especially at the level perpetrated by USC) under his watch.

I've got an even BETTER idea.  Try this master plan to take over the collegiate football universe:

Bill Bellicheck as our HC

Chip Kelly runs the O

We time warp Vince Lombardi back to run the D

We dont need a special teams coach cause we never punt and go for 2 on every TD

You tell me that wouldn't just RAWK.  And I think we can pull it off.....afterall...we're MEECHIGAN for God's sake.

On the radio a couple weeks ago, Brian said that anyone looking to Alabama and Nick Saban as a model for M football should "immediately leave the fanbase."

I wonder what he'd say about Pete Carroll and USC given the violations that took place on Carroll's watch.

I have a hunch that it would be something similar.

That absolute snake of a smug human being is the last thing I want for this program.  He orchestrated the downfall of USC for the next 2 years or so, slithered out with that shit eating grin of his that I HATE so much, then got more money, and no punishment.

That is not a pleasant thought, go away.

I may be one of the poster children for stupid posts, but at least my stupid posts wouldn't spell disaster for the football team. No, nein, nada, never, bad idea, abort.

Really? What made you think of this? Why would we want a coach that was involved with a college that had major NCAA violations? No thanks, no matter what happens next year, I say no to Carroll.

It's fucking awesome that a legitimate (yet OT) post about the Phillies signing Cliff Lee is deleted, yet a piece of shit, stupid post like this is allowed to remain up.
