So sad to see... Looks like most of the stuff he's received throughout his career got lifted. I hope the local police can catch up to the bastards. It's not like it'll go unnoticed on EBay, after all, we're not OSU were it'd be lost in a sea of memoribilia-for-sale.
Junior Hemingway's accolades stolen from family home in SC
Yes, but how does this specifically pertain to recruiting? Will this dissuade other potential recruits from picking us, as he was obviously targeted as a Michigan player? How does it affect our standing with Kozan?
That's fine and all, but I'm more concerned about how this affects Hoke's decision to offer [random 16-year-old MI football player whose high school coach is probably my brother].
I don't get it . . .
If you're referring to my post, it's a bit of an inside joke.
I'd imagine anyone with -oh, say...60 or more points- would have gotten it.
Hey Bubba, do you like fish sticks?
That just makes me mad for him. He worked hard for that stuff and then someone comes and steals it.
I see that they had the value of everything I don't know how they came up with them unless they called someone at Ohio.
it was those DB's he made look silly in 2010?
That is so sad. Listening to how emotional he was after the sugar bowl win I can't begin to imagin how pissed off he must be about this
Here, I'll replace his accolades:
I still think he was one of the more exciting players on our team last year.
He made some fantastic catches/TDs
I loved his leadership qualities
I hope he thrives and prospers in whatever he does after Michigan
Now, as far as his awards, I'm an truly saddened that someone would stoop so low as to steal a kids trophies/ribbons/hardware. Who does s*** like that? What value does it have to a thief?
"What value does it have to a thief?"
attempted to educate me, let me return the favor...
Not all accolades are, some are material. You're welcome.
It is odd how word meanings drift over time. It used to mean "a touch on a person's shoulders with a sword at the bestowing of a knighthood." That no one could ever steal. It is like my pet hobby horse "decimate" which, through years of misuse, has become imprecise.
Watch Mr. Pryor's ebay account.
I should work for CSI
I can't imagine the trophies and such would have much extrinsic value. Other than Junior and his family who wants his Sugar Bowl MVP? It's almost like someone would steal it just to make him/his family upset. How would you even unload those things? Who would really buy them off you? Just makes me sick.
Agree. Of course the type of person that would consider stealing that type of stuff may not have totally thought things through either.
I guess I'm just looking for logic where there isn't any, but I would expect most thieves to go through a risk-reward evaluation and steal something actually worth getting arrested/jailed over. Like a life sized water color portrait or Junior, I'd drop some coin to get that (obviously not if I thought it was stolen from his home).
My money is on a raging Spartan fan.
Sad story. Hopefully they'll be able to track these punks down. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard to track down jewelry with specific bowl logos on it.
In other news though, how many people here knew his real name was Kenneth Earl Hemingway, Jr.?
Probably someone he knew, sadly.
I'ma on my way JR!
i hope they can replace the bowl watches. that shit'll get melted down and sold by weight.
It's honestly insane to me how commonplace stealing is in our society. In college I had my ipod stolen off my desk. Just a year ago someone stole my road bike out of my garage. I live on a culdesac in a nice neighborhood and the garage was left open for like 2 hours, wtf! No one has any integrity these days.
in local papers is that you have to read the idiot comments below it. Sigh.
I hope he finds some resolution after this and stays focused on the draft, if that is his dream.
