Jumbo Elliott, Rick Leach, Charles Woodson Make CFB Hall of Fame Ballot

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

The College Football Hall of Fame released its 2017 Hall of Fame ballot today, and there were three Wolverines among the 75 FBS players listed: Jumbo Elliott, Rick Leach and Charles Woodson. This was Woodson's first year of being eligible, and I have to believe he's a no-doubter.

Lots of great memories and names as you look through the other folks who made the ballot:

an Orange Bowl, a Rose Bowl, another Rose Bowl, yet another Rose Bowl and the Hula Bowl.

The only name is Rick Leach of Michigan ('75,'76,'77,'78)

No other quarterback has ever, or will ever, repeat that amaizing feat again.

I touched on it in my TBT story on Clay Miller, but Jumbo Eliiott was responsible for one of the worst days I ever had on a football field.  He was a beast.  Plain and simple. Best football player I ever saw.

I always tell people that Jumbo was one of the kindest guys off the field, but as soon as he stepped foot inside the line, he flipped a switch and hated everyone.

He deserves to be in the HOF.

#2 is gonna pick it off, and take it back for 6.

Taken all together, that entire '97 season is still the best college football feeling I've ever had.
