"Judge Rod"?

Submitted by Aequitas on
I'm tired of all the parasites in their lofty perches taking shot after shot at our coach. The latest is Jeff Defran on TKA who's now going on an hour straight semi-diatribe not just on Jonas, but now on the coach. This is Coach Rod's team. He'll handle how his players conduct themselves internally, just as Lloyd and Bo did before him. I don't need to see what happens internally (and neither does anyone outside that team for that matter) just that it's not a theme and that coach has his team under control. Demanding that Coach Rod discipline his players based on a video distributed by AnnArbor.com and questions from the same douchey writers that created the latest hit-piece on Michigan and Coach Rod is asinine. Defran cut's off callers not sympathetic to his views and derisively referrs to Rodriguez as "Judge-Rod". Seriously, who are these people? Defran has a red-ass because Rodriguez claims he hasn't seen the video and won't punish his player based on an un-flagged incident? Do the writers and talking heads really think THEY should be in charge of running the program and meting out discipline? I'm pretty sure Rodriguez will see the video and take steps to ensure all of his players understand the implications of losing their cool and untimely penalties. Do you really think Charlie Weis is getting grief for still pictures in the local ND newspaper of some of the MMA moves his linemen were putting on Brandon Graham? My question is: Why is a guy who never uttered a negative syllable about Lloyd Carr so quick to jump all over Rodriguez at ever possible chance? For that matter, why are so many writers, media personalities and Michigan "fans"?

but the drive home had me furious. Enough's enough. Let's let the guy coach the damn team and quit looking for hurdles to throw in front of him, or "tests" to pass. Feels like there's still a lot of people saying, "He's got a lot to prove." Well no shit, he's doing that right now. Look at the GPA, mood of the players and play on the field...what else can he do to get a break from these clowns?

As GoBlueScott said, there's a very simple solution to getting people like this to shut up: Don't listen. Once enough people stop, he won't have a job anymore. I've been boycotting Colin Cowherd for this same reason for about three years, and I don't feel like I'm missing a damn thing.

Look at how Tate embraced RichRod after they beat ND. The players obviously respect and love him and that usually translates to effort on and off the field.

That was one of my favorite moments in the game. It represented the emotions of everyone that's bled Maize and Blue every time the program, players, and coach were attacked over the last 18 months or so. Coincidentally, I just happened to have some dust get into my eyes right about then. My other favorite moment was when Matthews caught the winning TD pass and, about to sprint into orbit with joy, pauses with a "Here you go, sir." hand-off to the referee. I don't know why but that put a huge smile on my face.

I am sure they don't listen to these crackheads when are going over RR's job performance. They see the interaction and I am sure that they ask questions. They are the "judges." I am sure they are fine with what is going on. Yet, that talk makes me angry too. I just change the station around here.

I was listening and very angry with him, I never liked him and wish they would not have brought him back, I picked up the phone twice and dialed to let him know my thoughts, but hung up twice, wasn't worth the effort because he would not have understand my point. I think if Rich Rod would acknowledge this it would be validating the great whale, I am glad he handled it like this completely disregarding the slob from south bend.
