The Carter 16

There was an angle on Michigan replay (amongst other places) that showed what happened.  Basically, Lewis stuck his arm up, deflected the ball downwards which made the ball become sandwiched between the receiver and Lewis.  Lewis grabs it before it falls, receiver falls down, Jabrill blows up the closest guy to Lewis and that's all she wrote.  Hell of a play.

Probably the shortest, least NFL ready CB All American in history - but this can all be fixed with 12 months of hard work.

On a serious note - huge honor!  Thought the lack of INT would hurt as that is usually a big driver so esp sweet.

1.  From the articles I read he sounded all MSU in high school, so I don't know that letting him get away applies very well in Michigan's case(it may for MSU).

2.  From what I understand he was a middling prospect in high school, sometimes these guys blow up, most of the time they don't and I don't remember him being especially high on Michigan's radar.

Would it have been nice to get him? In hindsight, sure.  But I don't think you can realistically call this anything more than just one of those things.

Even better that he tweeded out again the other day about coming back.  Someone shot a tweet at him asking if he was coming back, and he replied that he wouldn't be doing his homework now if he wasn't.

Was Lewan a consensus All-American?  I didn't think he was named to 3 of the 5 or whatever the criteria is to be given the consensus honor.

Congratulations Jourdan, it's been fantastic watching you play over the last year.

In August, when Michigan ran virtually radio silent on most every watch list and preseason projection for all of these awards, I had wondered who among the team would manage to find themselves up for various honors anyway - Lewis was a guess I had though. Now, it is great to see Jourdan Lewis get quite a bit of recognition for his work this year and being one of the reasons opposing offenses walk away sad from most series.
