A player accused and found NOT guilty? That's the Michigan difference, Sparties. Can't wait to read the "the fix is in, Blue Wall media" excuses at RCMB.

Awesome. Resolved swiftly and before he enters training camp, he'll have no distractions. His ex should receive repercussions for false accusations. Unfortunately, the system sucks.

Or, the jury simply did not believe that there was enough evidence to support her story, Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.

I'm not trying to throw Jourdan Lewis under the bus here.  He seems like a really good guy so I had a hard time believing what he was accused of.  I'm just very uncomfortable when the response to "defendant found not guilty" is "the accuser's a lying @#$%! How can we make her pay?".  Things are rarely black and white.

"She should be held responsible" is not the correct take here. She did not make the charging decision. He has a remedy in an action for malicious prosecution if he so chooses, albeit a very difficult one to pursue and win. This is a very good outcome for him though. Very good news.

EXACTLY! JD seems like a great kid, and from the vague knowledge I have of Nikole she seems to be pretty upstanding herself. This unfortunately is a fairly common domestic disagreement that ended up in a courtroom. Hope the best for both going forward that they don't have to deal with anything like this again.

She lied and said he choked her and later recanted. She doesn't despute his story that he only hit her with a pillow, only that it was hard enough to constitute assault. She admitted to hitting him multiple times. This isn't a hung jury situation. Not only is Lewis fairly certainly not guilty of a crime, she's the one that should be charged, but that's not how our society works. Instead a guy loses millions for defending himself.

Just because JD didn't commit a crime doesn't mean she is a liar. I believe she experienced real enough trauma that night to press charges. I believe that she believes she was assaulted. That shouldn't be discounted. JD has always publicly been an upstanding guy and a quintessential Michigan Man, so I was always skeptical about her version of events. That doesn't make her a liar. If a domestic issue ends with a police report, the emotions of the people involved were certainly running high enough to distort one's (or both) reality. After following this case, I believe she believes she was assaulted. I believe JD could have handled the situation better, but did not commit a crime.

Good. Hopefully Jourdan stays positive about the whole thing, as it would be easy to become very cynical. With all the crazy shit going on in the world sometimes it's hard to realize that the vast majority of humans are, in fact, very good people.

While it has always seemed like he had a good head on his shoulders, he got an early reminder of how quickly all of his hard work could be taken away. Go ball out in the League.

Good for Jourdan. After following the proceedings on Twitter today, it's sad he had to have his name dragged through the mud for the last 4 months on those trumped up charges.

He bet on himself and won...as he should've since he knew/felt he'd done nothing wrong.

I'm very happy for him, he's a great young man and I wish him all the best in the NFL. I think he can find a niche as a dominant NB. Teams have to find an answer for these little Slot WRs who just eat defenses up. I think that's where Lewis can shine.

Actual domestic abuse is a terrible, always avoidable thing. False accusations of domestic violence  are relatively as bad because the system too often assumes an innocent accused is guilty.

In the future, please align yourself with a quality partner, there are others like the person who falsely accused you who will attempt to ensnare you. It's easy to be vulnerable by such folks.

You've learned a difficult lesson. Keep your eyes on the prize and make good decisions going forward. The world is your oyster, dude. Best of luck to you.

And may the accuser find personal help. That is all.
