First year after we all graduated several Michigan buddies lived in a one bedroom shack on the beach.  So I made the trip out to their cockroach-infested apartment and we all watched the game while their place was being "bombed" for the roaches.

After the victory we all got drunk (of course) and at midnight went skinny dipping in the ocean.  Then my buddy who was a catcher for Michigan decided we should call up Jim Abbott.  It was 3am and he was due to pitch that afternoon for the Angels.  Surprisingly Jim picked up and talked to us for about ten minutes.  He finally reminded us he had a game in about ten hours. So we all left the beach and returned to the apartment to sleep with the dead roaches.

And they were all winnable games - we lost to UCLA by 3 while playing our backup QB (and missed a couple of FGs) lost to Washington by five after a blocked FG for a TD, lost to Oregon by four after a bunch of special teams gaffes, and then lost to Utah by seven. This year aside, a common denominator there was poor special teams play. With Baxter I don't think we'll see too much of that going forward.

With the current coaching change they are in a transition and don't have a defined identity. Likely will see uptempo as long as their true freshman QB can handle it. If the defense gets a couple quick 3 and outs, or turnovers one would assume they slow down the game for the freshman.

Wearing it in the interview.

In the MLive article about the stickers, there was this as well [I've edited what I think was a typo]:

The helmet stickers are[n't?] the only incentive Harbaugh and his staff are using to drive competition on the roster. Any time a player on defense creates a turnover in practice or a game, they get a prize from defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin.
Cornerback Jourdan Lewis showed off his "ball hawk" sweat shirt Monday, but noted that the entire defense is currently jealous of a specialized fleece earned by James Ross III during camp.

I'd be curious to see Ross's "specialized fleece."

No matter what kind of conditioning you do in the offseason, nothing truly prepares you for that first full game. Guys usually have their legs fully under them by game 2-3 a the latest.
