He seems like an early MSU lean. Its not often a kid from Michigan is ranked that high. Probably only C Webb. Obviously he would be a great get.
Josh Jackson 2016 #1 player per Rivals
I assume this is basketball? Any more info?
Yes, it is basketball. Not sure I agree with the MSU lean part, though. If anything, Kentucky would probably be the early favorite, as that is the one school he said he hopes to get an offer from (which he obviously will).

To add that he's a basketball recruit. I really struggled getting past #1 player per Rivals and MSU lean.
Plenty of time for Izzo to drop the ball - Jabari Parker was the top rated person in class at about the same point and was thought to be an MSU lean
It is 2013.
Good job sir!
Some people need to expect more from themselves when starting a thread. Does this kid go to a high school we may have heard of? Has his height been measured? Does he play a particular position? Are there any other interesting tidbits worth including? I don't think the board needs over policing, but this is especially lacking.
He won't be going blue, so ... kewl?
just to screw with people.
Wasn't Battier also ranked close to #1?
What position does he play? Center? I sure hope so
Some other Michigan targets in that early top 35 for 2016:
- #11: Tyus Battle, 6-5 W, Gladstone, NJ
- #15: Joshua Langford, 6-4 W, Madison, AL
- #22: Derryck Thornton, 6-1 PG, Findlay Prep (Henderson, NV)
- #27: T. J. Leaf, 6-8 SG, El Cajon, CA
- #32: Eron Gordon, 6-2 G, Indianapolis North Central HS
- #35: Cassius Winston, 6-0 PG, U-D Jesuit
Look, John Calipari might have already been fired by the Lakers before this kid gets to college, so I'm not worried about it.
I was going to say, #1 overall in 2016 is a MSU lean (football!!!) OK, order now restored.
gordie bell had a little write up back in Feb., on Josh Jackson. I have been waiting to hear more about Mr. Jackson since then.

Not to pile on, but this place isn't RCMB. Put a bit of context in the post.
Ervin Johnson was as highly rated out of high school but back in the stone age they didn't rank recruits with such vigor as today.
Looks like he will be a 2/ stretch 3. Attacks the rim and finishes on the break. Also has a nice jumper.
Looks kinda like Manny Harris. Rangy athleticism, good but unconvential jump shot, decent ball handler. Lot to like.
