Josh Helmholdt: Michigan fans should be on commitment watch

Submitted by MGoCooper on

Michigan fans should definitely be on watch RT @Tiggs_14:@JoshHelmholdt does that mean a @umichfootball commit is soon to follow? #goblue

The prevailing thought is of course Sam Grant, but this could be Armani Reeves. People on the Penn State scout free board are saying that his in home visit with Coach Hoke went quite well.

I say bring back the two at a time commits! Grant&Reeves!

Helmholdt tweets that Grant decommitted from BC.  Someone asks him if this means Michigan fans should be on commitment watch.  He says yes.

Not sure how you would read that as being about anyone other than Grant.

Signing day is in a week. and Grant has 2 in-homes this week.  So Helmholdt's timeline and Grant's coincide perfectly.  Furthermore, I don't think Josh's post about Grant means UM will land him.  I'm sure he'd tell an OU fan they should be on committment watch as well.

I'm assuming because Thompson was extremely high on Michigan, only to have 2 TE spots fill up before he could commit.  Then, after he committed elsewhere, we look for a 3rd TE.

My personal favorite was that Kalis wasn't really decomitting but he was actually coming up to visit Michigan and steal our recruits, I am dead serious they really thought this was happening.  They are an interesting bunch.

Recruiting is finally starting to wind down. So, right now we are in great position for Grant, Diamond, and Garnett, and have a good chance with Reeves, as well. Throw in some random recruit on signing day, and we have a fantastic class. Kind of odd to see a kid like Grant with such great TE offers so low ranked, but whatever.

Josh Hemholdt also just tweeted:

Crete, IL CB Anthony Standifer RT Loved my visit at ND the coaching staff and support system is great... Definitely #1 on my list

It makes you wonder why we parted ways with Standifer. If his grades cut it to go to ND then his grades would be good enough for Michigan.  I know the full story never came out but it was widely rumored to be an academic issue. It would have been nice to have him in the class especially if we cannot land Reeves.
