Chesson will be deciding on Wednesday of this week. Payton is still not close to a decision and it is sounding like he will end up at Cal. Just a little recruiting info on a slow Sunday.

Thanks for the information..consensus is still Chesson with be our other WR in this class, right? Hoping for Garnett..it certainly can't hurt us that he's so close with Magnuson.
December 18th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
Chesson still looks like he should be Blue. He visited Iowa recently but I doubt that visit changed much. Who knows in recruiting though.

i was just in iowa city today. doesnt compare at all to ann arbor, cant imagine it changed anything

OK... okay. But where does Brionte Dunn stand? Your update is incomplete...
December 18th, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
My guess is he stands in the vicinity of a trailer park in Columbus.

I blame Urban Meyer and I am going to freak out about it.

making a dumb fucking thread about it!
December 18th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
This is very good news. Only bad news is that the other schools on the list are good for what he wants too. But we are Michigan...

When you see UM, Stanford, and ND as your final 3, methinks you are looking out for your life after football. Hopefully Garnett sees what UM has to offer in the classroom and likes it.
December 18th, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
Not exactly a shocker but at least it's official news. It's been down to these three for a while.
December 18th, 2011 at 10:49 PM ^
Surprised he eliminated UW. It was the school I was most worried about since it's hard to compete with momma's home cookin' if that's what you're after. This is good news.
December 18th, 2011 at 9:16 PM ^
Potentially Garnett, Kalis, Magnuson, Lewan, and AJ Williams vs. Spence, Schutt, Washington, and Pittman is going to be EPIC in 2013. The whole game is going to be all-stars vs. all stars. I'm so excited you have no idea.
December 18th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
And you just can't hide it...

Oh shoot you're right! I thought he was a junior for some reason. Sorry, the O-Line would be Lewan, Kalis (big boy for LG), Miller, Garnett, and Schofield. DAMN! I'm pumped for that! Not to mention adequate rotation with Stacey, Magnuson, Braden, and others as PT-backups.

We should redshirt everybody in 2012 unless we get Evan Boehm because we won't need anyone to start with all of the returning starters.

need depth...

Does anyone know when Garnett took his official to Michigan if he was able to see the medical facilities at all? I bet the whole time he was probably thinking man, when are they going to take me to see the hospital. This guy is a must-have. Hopefully he chooses Michigan.

BRING It!

My only concern for the future is a reprise of Henne/Smith, where studs line up on both sides for years, but the difference always boils down to the mobility of the OSU QB turning the 10 yard sacks Henne gave up into 20 yard gains. 2013 and 2014 will see us facing a jr/sr Braxton Miller. From how he performed as a freshman, I am not looking forward to that at all. OSU will have it's points, as it did this year, we are going to have to come up with a way to light up their D beyond ground and pound. We need elite receivers and backs, especially receivers, and that is where we are hurting right now on the recruiting trail.
December 18th, 2011 at 9:58 PM ^
i share your concern. given that we're transitioning to manball and have a 5 star qb coming in two years, i assumed receivers would be clamoring to come. maybe it's still a year too early.
December 18th, 2011 at 10:51 PM ^
Uh, Henne probably ran a 5.3 forty whereas Shane Morris just ran a 4.7 forty this weekend. I can haz mobile Qb's with armz?
December 19th, 2011 at 7:10 PM ^
False, click through to see rivals had him at 4.6. if I remember correctly Henne also had a pretty successful track career.
December 18th, 2011 at 11:43 PM ^
DG will be the same year as Braxton Miller if he gets his RS
December 18th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
I'm confident with the whole returning O-Line except for center.
December 18th, 2011 at 9:56 PM ^
Be nice to see some of these o line kids redshirt next year and some not so they don't all finish up their eligibility in the same year.
December 18th, 2011 at 10:07 PM ^
We really need Garnett... With him adding to our O Line we will be able to have more agile guards that can move and trap. Then go grab Banner and you're talking perfection.

Nice info. Does Ace do anything other than put out info shortly after TomVH does on ESPN. These are the types I updates I would expect from him.
December 18th, 2011 at 10:17 PM ^
You should totally take over for Ace...
December 18th, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
Ace's job is not to regurgitate premium info from paysites. If it was, this blog would probably be shut down pretty quick.
December 19th, 2011 at 1:20 AM ^
And what authority do Rivals/Scout have to shut down MGoBlog? None.

December 19th, 2011 at 8:27 AM ^
But that's exactly what he does. Follow both on twitter and check out their timelines. Ace always follows TomVH with the same info.
December 19th, 2011 at 11:31 AM ^
The 2013 recruit interviews, break downs and the Creeper Van Originals are all content TomVH didn't have a chance to publish before leaving.
December 19th, 2011 at 12:21 AM ^
Do you think Ace just showed up with a black book full of the contacts that TomVH has or what? It's going to take awhile before he approaches the VH level. There's a reason Tom was hired away.
December 18th, 2011 at 10:17 PM ^
I know he isn't as highly touted as Diggs or Payton, but damn it, I'll welcome a 6'3 WR to the class any day

Last time they were on tv Owusu was streaking down the field for a TD everytime I turned on the game (overexaggerated). Peyton looked bigger than most of the DBs but absent as far as production. Wish someone would be like hey Stefon Diggs, we forgive you for the miscommunication, do you want to set up a visit. We need a 5 star wide receiver to play immediately against Alabama and after the Spence to Ohio thing today. Overall, very excited like a few others on this post to see 2013-14 years!
December 19th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
Molk did take Miller under his wing, so I think Miller will make a decent center in a couple of years. As far as defending the spread with a mobile QB goes, see Alabama 2009 SEC championship. It's not easy, but it's not impossible. I have faith in the defensive staff figuring out a defense for the staff. Let's not dub tsiO's Dline unbeatable just yet. Remember Meyers last recruiting class at Florida, I think they had 3 5* D-linemen and the #1 recruiting class in the nation. Weren't they 7-5 this year?
