Josh Garnett interview coming soon from Tremoundous

Submitted by drewro02 on

Just saw on Twitter (20 minutes ago-is) that Tremendous has done an interview with Garnett very recently, and the info could be coming soon. We will be waiting on the edge of our seats, Tremendous. Excellent work as always.

I do agree that it's not a well worded comment but I agree with him that there's no way Garnett still doesn't know where he's going.  He's not going to decide during school on the day of his announcement.  Too smart for that.

I disagree.  The decision can be something that comes out of nowhere and can take until the last second.  I know D-1 football is much different than D-1 women's basketball, but in the 90's, my sister was in a similar situation where there was planned mini press conference at her high school to announce where she was going to play basketball at (she alas, chose ND over U of M and UConn).  She still hadn't made a decision the night before her announcement and literally stayed up almost all night locked in her room trying to decide until out of nowhere, she started screaming her decision in the wee hours of the morning.

I know, I know..."cool story bro."  But the point is, these aren't simple decisions, and in a lot of cases it can take up until the very last second for a kid to actually know where he wants to go.  I probably wouldn't believe it myself if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes.

So if the man needs to pray, how about we let him do his thing and hope his god is a Wolverine fan.

could just wait for Tremendous to post the interview which he will inevitably do.

Do we really need a post for this? A thread to warn us about an upcoming thread? Really?

I know. Sorry man. I didn't realize that his interview would come so soon after I posted this. Like I said, now I feel like a huge d&%k for trying to steal his thunder. Sorry, not my intention at all. I think we are all excited about the commitment tomorrow, and I may have gotten a little too excited.

Man, if I was in his position I would just push back my decision a bit. That having been said, if it's this close and he's going to pray on it, I have to think he will follow his heart/gut, which to me says sticking with his friend Erik at UM.

Also, you're allowed to say dick, this is the internet.

Actually, there is an update posted in that link. The interview that the OP is referring to is one that Josh has agreed to do after he's made his decision. We're going to go through the bulk of his recruitment and what he's gone through, etc. It's going to be pretty comprehensive, I am pumped for it.

Thanks for all that you do!  Going forward I see your blog growing so I would recommend refering to your readers as...readers and not fans.  Just a suggestion.

could he have been referring to his following (of which I am one) on Facebook? Are those who "like", and thus follow, his page referred to as fans, at least in Facebook vernacular? Not bickering here, just asking for clarification.

Did I miss the publication of the Brandstatter interview?  Has that been posted?  Do you transcribe all of these yourself?  Do you use any voice recognition software?

I haven't typed it up yet, but it most definitely took place. I'll probably get it typed up this weekend and email Jim a copy to look over before I publish.

Also, a sneak preview: he hasn't read 3&O yet, sorry. Hope you will still read it although I'm not betting on it now.

Actually, I'd be fascinated to know why, after 4 months and an intervening holiday season (although busy for Jim no doubt) he hasn't read it yet.

I think you've done a very good job with your interviews.

You really don't think he hasn't read it?

He works for the Michigan Football Radio Network. Inside Michigan Football is also a university-owned program. Not only would I not be shocked if Brandon told everyone under this jurisdiction to not talk about 3&O publicly, I find it hard to believe he did anything other than order that very edict.

I think he's actually made up his mind already. Not calling him a liar here, but the kid seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders.  I'm sure he's gone through the pros and cons of each and analyzed things from a few different perspectives.

That being said, I doubt it's really "50/50" - this might be recruit speak for "don't want to offend the school I don't choose".  Based on what I've read of him, I'm sure he had a rigorous process to decide, and I don't think it's going to be a "flip of a coin" tomorrow.  I think he's already decided and just keeping it close to the vest.

Whatever happens, I'll be off work, home from the gym, and just settled down at my laptop at 3pm PST (6pm EST). I definitely look forward to logging in here for the breaking news!

I agree this is sort of theater of the absurd. After all this time, I'd imagine a guy as smart as Garnett would have things figured out. I love how certain posters portray this decision as some sort of epic Sophie's Choice type drama. It's just a kid choosing between two colleges, in a no-lose situation. He knows where he's going. Or he should.

And conversely, I hope Williams doesn't play a part in Reeve's commitment. It actually just struck me kind of how similar the situations are, yet many are saying how Williams won't affect Reeves' because he hasn't committed to OSU yet, but are arguing the exact opposite in Garnett's case.
