Jordan Morgan SR Day Tribute..

Submitted by Mello219 on

This is something I deceided to share that will be in my 2014 Michigan Basketball Season Recap video. Hope you guys enjoy.

He committed to michigan at a time when the program hadn't been to the tournament since 1998.

He's the first michigan basketball player to go to four NCAA tournaments since Dugan fife (not counting sanctions)

He's been the starting center for 2 big ten championship teams.

He's been to a final four.

And he still has the rest of this year to finish the script. These are all facts and can never be taken away from him.

Kind of sad...I felt like there should've been almost a change in music during the second half "redemption" highlights after the IU miss, but very nice.

Gonna miss J-Mo, but we've still go a big senior day tomorrow! I hope he gets some redemption of his own.

Going to be on a "bar crawl" in Wisconsin tomorrow and may not get to see all of the game tomorrow.  If things were really on the line I would make sure to be able to see the game.  It's turned out that not much is riding on tomorrows outcome; which, is nice.

But....the past day or two has me really wanting to see as much of the game tomorrow as I can, purely because it's big man's Sr. Day.  I know it doesn't mean shit to him if some nobody in the Midwest watches or not, but part of this fandom concept is growing attached in ways to some of these guys; these late-teen through early twenties year old "guys".  Good on Jordan for seemingly having a good head on his shoulders these past few years and manning up when his number has been called.  It ain't over yet.  Hopefully he can help add another banner to the school and another accomplishment to his athletic resume.

Great tribute to a Michigan Man. It will be so weird not having him around next season. He has been a team player through and through. I hope he gets to play tomorrow, I know the fans in Crisler will give him the applause he has earned. Crazy that he committed to UM when we didn't quite know where the basketball team was going, and leaves 5 years later with two engineering degrees, two B10 championships, and at least one Final Four appearance. Talk about making the most of your time! Congratulations Jordan!!

I don't know if I've seen such a collection of awesome and totally deserved tributes for anyone that I've seen for Jordan the last few days. It tells me two things. 1. The basketball program has grown exponentially in importance to the Michigan fan base and 2. Morgan has played a huge part in our attachment. I cannot help but be a little sad, I can only hope we get to see this team together for 10 more games.

I really hope Jordan sees/hears at least some of the respect and love he's getting from Michigan fans.  I can't be in Ann Arbor tomorrow.  For those who can be...make him feel it for and from all of us.

Dude still drives me crazy with his streak of gumpiness -- even when he's having great games, he just has this tendency to have balls bounce off his hands out of bounds, or to go up too weakly and miss what seem like easy buckets. At the same time, his FG% this year is insane, he produces regularly in multiple categories, plays strong defense, and is unquestionably a valuable asset on this team.

He's kind of gloriously uncoordinated, and yet his value to this program has reached indisputable levels. His place is MBB history is secure. Cheers to you, JM.

So proud of the way that young man represents our great University.

Thanks, too, for the video. The sequence at the end with the two great passes vs. OSU, split by the Morris handoff to Morgan vs. Northwestern, followed by the two plays that iced the Syracuse game is brilliant.
