If you're like me, you're scrambling for good Michigan news like a coke addict looks for dust that may have fallen into the carpet. To that end, I want to point out the good news that is the development of Jordan Morgan: to begin with, he's a banger, something Michigan has lacked the last couple of years. Any Big Ten team must have a guy who will fight for rebounds and just generally provide some muscle in the paint, and Morgan does this for Michigan. Morgan has things to learn about post defense, but his combination of tenacity, intelligence, and strength already make him a pretty valuable asset in the paint.
Second, Morgan has (to me, at least) been really surprising with some of his moves and quickness to the basket. His offensive game is far more polished than predictions lead me to believe. He also has a somewhat decent outside shot.
I'm not arguing that we should expect Morgan to be an all-Big Ten player anytime soon, but he's certainly looking better than a lot of people would have expected. He's a nice piece to the puzzle.
