Jordan Kovacs moved up to 53-man roster

Submitted by mgobaran on

Don't know how this was missed! But on Saturday, Kovacs was moved from the practice squad to the 53-man roster for last Sunday's game.

He is only playing special teams at the moment, but I hope someday this season he can actually see time as a Safety.

According to Maize N Brew's  Ex-Wolverines in the NFL, Kovacs recorded his first career NFL tackle on kickoff coverage.

I think it might have been mentioned in passing in a thread over the weekend, but thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention in this fashion. It really is nice to see Kovacs getting to the 53-man roster even if just on special teams right now - his work ethic from his days at Michigan has definitely followed him down to Miami and, like it did here, it is paying dividends.

Never a doubt Kovacs would make it with his instincts and ntelligence.  The guy is all football.  Congrats to Demens as well who was poorly utilized for a good chunk of his time at Michigan.

Final Note to Braylon, self, and others: Nothing good ever comes from a grown man throwing himself a birthday bash.

Funny when I think back a few years at how disgusted I was with UM's defensive performance and this was only magnified by the fact that they were going to start a walk-on at safety that wasn't recruited by anybody out of high school.  I quickly became a big fan of his and glad to hear that he is officially playing in the NFL.    Way to go Jordan.
