Jon Tenuta may be looking for a job
Just throwing this out there to see what some of you think, but Jon Tenuta is probably going to be out of a job now that Kelly has been hired. His stock may just be a little lower right now than a couple of years ago when it seemed as if everyone wanted him at their school. Just a thought here but why not bring him in as a position coach and assistant or associate head coach?
He has been a DBs coach at numerous schools, including Ohio State. At Notre Dame he coached the LBs and was the Asst. HC. Now the current secondary coach is Tony Gibson, who is a lifelong Rich Rod disciple, so him taking over the secondary is probably not going to happen. That being said Jay Hopson, who coaches the LBs, has not had the ties to Rodriguez that Gibson does and I would love to see Tenuta come in at that position.
His style of defense fits in extremely well with Robinson in that they are both philosophically very aggressive, and love to blitz. This is something that could go along way in helping the defense game plan better. It would also be a huge boost to the position he would coach, and to potential recruits as he has a great track record of players leaving his system and going to the NFL.

I agree that having Tenuta as our LB's coach would be awesome. But it's not going to happen

I brought it up a couple of days ago and I know others have talked about him and Corwin Brown. I think they both would be great pick-ups as long as they can blend in with the RR staff. Someone on this board when the "Great UM Coaching Search" said that C. Brown was a dirty recuiter though. Anyone have input on that. Sorry for the grammer and spelling I'm in the service and what most of you people call a "knuckle dragger/mouth breather".

You defend us, GA, you can use any kind of grammar or spelling you want. You are most certainly not a knuckle dragger or mouth breather. Thank you for your service.

there is dirty recruiting and dirrrrrrty recruiting (ncaa violating style). i can stomach the former, not the latter.

I also wish that ND would of gotten Edsell so we could game plan for the first two games next year using Uconn tape. I also wish Kelly would of stayed at UC to be a Parisite to OSU like MSU is to us.

Except UC would be consistently good.

I'm all for this as long as I don't have to deal with "TANOOOOTA BLIIIIIIIITZ" in liveblogs until the end of time.

Tenuta isn't going to come in and just be a LB coach, and Calvin Magee already holds the title of "Associate [or Assistant} Head Coach." The whole thing would just be weird and/or bad.

you nail it, Magnus.
Two Chiefs? Probably wouldn't work--and Tenuta might overshadow Gerg the way he did Brown.
I think Brown would be a better call--expecially the recruiting angle. He might be more likely to take an assistant's role. And I like his UM connection.

Yeah, seriously doubt Tenuta would take a demotion to an LB coach. His services will probably be in demand elsewhere as a Defensive Coordinator

I'm not sure what Chuck Amato's current situation is at Fla St. now that Bobby Bowden is out. But I heard earlier in the season that he and Jimbo Fisher don't get along well. Talk about bringing in a guy to coach LBs or D-line, well Chuck Amato would be a guy high on my list.

Again, I doubt Chuck Amato would take a demotion to the position coach level. I mean, he used to be a head coach in the NCAA. I can't picture him coaching linebackers for Rich Rodriguez/Greg Robinson.

Well he was calling the plays as D coordinator at ND for one year, and in that one year the defense was probably the worst in ND history, despite having a solid amount of talent and upperclassmen. It actually got worse as the year went on somehow too.
So I would say his stock is pretty low right now.
It's also pretty common knowledge that he is a terrible recruiter. He just has no personality. I don't think he would be much of an upgrade at all, except maybe as a position coach.
Corwin Brown would be a much better get.
