Jon Runyan wins primary

Submitted by CalifExile on

Breaking news from last week. I can't imagine what distracted us from this.

Jon Runyan won the Republican nomination in NJ's 3rd Congressional District with some 16,800 votes: 60% of the votes cast in the Republican primary. He will face incumbent Democrat John Adler in November. Adler received 75% of the Democrat vote, some 11,500 votes. (NOTE: These are still not official returns.)

I don't think that I am breaking this cite's "no politics" rule by saying that I am pulling for Runyan.  My support has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with my support of anyone that played for Michigan.  He probably will have a difficult time winning (going against an incumbent in a largely Democrat state), but in our crazy political scene, anything is possible.

I wouldn't say that it'd be crazy for him to win. That seat was Republican help from 1993-2009, and with the groundswell of anti-incumbent sentiment, I'd say he might even be the favorite.

But no matter what, Go Runyan. I loved you as a Wolverine. I loved you as an Eagle.
