This summer I did something I haven't done in twelve years: work. I was asked if I could work third shift, giving aid to a fellow Vietnam Veteran with Parkinson's Disease. I was rather afraid at first, knowing nothing about the disease and very little about the man. However, I have not taken as much satisfaction from any other thing I've done since coaching football as I have in helping this great individual. He's extremely grateful over the smallest things and he thoroughly enjoys simply having someone willing to discuss issues of interest to both of us. I get why Jon is doing it. Although we both take someting different from our experiences, boredom was the common thread prompting our decisions. I'm happy I did it and it sounds as if he also finds it worthwhile.

Wish more did this for our Vets. Both parents served and all uncles and grandpa stormed Normandy beach. They are such amazing people that gave for us. Give a little back if you can. Go Blue and God Bless America!
