In this position he is responsible for on-field discipline. Congratulations to Jon on the appointment.  Link

His first order of business should be to free Tom Brady.

I like the way you're thinking here, but it seems that Claude Lemieux or Todd Bertuzzi would be even better choices.  I'd go with Claude Lemieux here because Bertuzzi is mostly known for one awful incident, where Claude Lemieux was a twat his entire career.

Mario Lemieux should, under U.S. and Canadian law, be allowed to force Claude Lemieux to change his surname.

Goodell probably made him sign some agreement to keep Brady locked up...  I kinda feel bad for him.  Yeah, he had to apply for it, and agree to it.  But that is a no-win job.  Good luck, Jon!

The initial phrasing was not clear, but at the end it said:

If you choose money you can not be with a woman, if you choose women you are jobless and broke. Which option do you choose?

Plus, it would not make real sense to choose from either a) having money vs. b) having no sex.

when I think of OL of old, then think of ours the past ten years...what a letdown. Still feels were nowhere near how it used to be. I guess it'll take some all Big Ten and All Americans. right now we don't even have second team all big ten. this is the last frontier til we fully return to being Michigan.. I have full faith Harbaugh will get them there but it still seems years away. maybe Cole and Braden make all Big Ten first team, but that seems best case for the next few years.

I didn't realize until I searched it this afternoon that Runyan had decided to walk away from a third term holding a U.S. Congressional seat due to, I will be PC here, respectable political reasons. Regardless of party affiliation, it takes a lot for a guy to acquire that position and then concede that the profession just simply sucks. Kudos to Runyan for forging a new, hopefully more rewarding path.

I seem to recall Runyan being voted like "dirtiest player in the NFL" or something a couple times during his playing career. So this is kind of like when the sheriff deputizes the expert gunslinger to enforce the law.

I taught Jon English at Carman-Ainsworth High School his senior year when I was doing my student-teacher rotation.  He was already 6' 9" and just a beast.  But he was also the nicest kid you'd ever meet. Very respectful and a better-than-average student.  I'm glad to see  him do well, and this looks like a great move for him.

I seem to remember her husband worked there, but I never met him.  After the first week, I completly took over all of the English courses (she still did the yearbook since I wasn't there for the full year), and I was buried, so I barely left the classroom save to use the rest room *lol*

I remember the name, but that's about it.  I grew up in Swartz Creek, so I knew the area pretty well, but I didn't get to know a lot of the teachers since I was working a part time job some nights and on weekends while doing the student teaching thing.  I was a busy boy.

I graduated from High School with Jon so I liked to keep tabs on him in college and in the pros.  The first pro game I caught they were still the oilers in Houston the year before the move.  He got ejected for punching Jerry Ball in the nuts.

Haha--I almost posted about this game. I knew Jon in college, so I was interested in watching his games on TV when possible. That game was over the holidays, and I happened to be home visiting my parents, which gave them a chance to watch him for the first time as well. The offensive linemen typically don't get a lot of attention during the game, but he definitely stood out when he punched Jerry Ball and got ejected. I guess we chose a good game to watch!
