per Rivals. Urbs literally taking PSU's entire class, and he might not be done with Williams and Reeves visiting soon.

Who'll be released to make room for him?
Hey, what about M football vs the ACC?
for use of Ped St. This isn't Mlive.
Not sure what Mlive is but thanks for the insightful post

Do not use "Ped St" or any other play on words that makes light of the PSU situation. Its not fun and its not funny. K? Thanks.
(For future reference, all you need to know about MLive is that you do not want to be compared to it or have it suggested that you'd be a better poster there instead of here.)
I completely agree. The whole situation is atrocious and lets not be those guys.
It's Michigan's equivalent to the RCMB. It's embarrassing.
I don't think it's quite that bad...it's bad...just not *that* bad.
I only saw the edited version.
They have room, i think. Also, this bumps osu up to #3 and now above us (#5) in the rivals team rankings.
Wow Bradley better start doing some recruiting. I'm also not really on board with the "Ped State" thing.
Bradley better not be doing any recruiting for them, considering he's not a coach there anymore.
How many spots does tOSU have left to fill their class?
OSU currently has two more spots left. With the almost foregone conclusion that Jamaal Berry will not return and rumors heating up that Chad Hagan will either transfer or seek medical hardship, it opens up to four more spots. Williams, Reeves, Dodson, Perkins, Neal, and Marcus are the top targets as of now.
I counted 21 currently, which is what they're at with commits. But don't they lose 3 for this recruiting cycle thus making the total possible 22?
Can someone clarify?
Iknow they can only have 83 on schollie a year. They just lost 3 this weekend, and I guess one kid might be getting hardship. Urban Saban isint playing around...
https://sites.google.com/site/scholarshipbreakdown/home
Looks like this breakdown shows two spots still available with Berry off of the team and Hagan still listed as being a part of it. Hard to pin down an exact number, but I'm expecting 25.
Depending on more cuts after tryout via video review of practices. F the kids, the SEC is here. Nice example Urban!
This was supposed to be the down year for Ohio's recruiting, giving Michigan a chance to catch up...
Michigan/Hoke are recruiting players that fit our team and are of good character and reliability. Ohio/Meyer are recruiting anyone that they can poach/get to boost an assclowns ego.
Who cares, there is actually great news here. Everyone was saying Michigan was getting recruits because Ohio was down with the inference being that we wouldn't get the class we're getting if Ohio wasn't down. Well, Ohio has a #3 rated class, will complete their class and we STILL have the class that we do! I know this is partially because of the PSU situation but they're not going to be a recruiting threat for awhile so the recruits will be there for both schools. If we keep bringing in classes like we are, I say let's play ball and take our chances!
Catch up to what?
We won in November.
We won in New Orleans.
This is Michigan.
Despondent????? This is MICHIGAN FOREGODSSAKE!!!!
Keep that playoff run going! Maximum disruption to PSU.
Penn St. getting totally blown up is bad for the conference. Ohio picking up all the scraps on route to a top 5 recruiting class is bad for humanity.
but 50% isn't bad, considering the situation 5 years ago. Ohio recruiting well is inevitable. I agree that not having a weak PSU in our division does not help us but I feel that conference prestige is meaningless in a media environment where the game is rigged in favor of the SEC and the Big 12.
PSU's famine is apparently OSUs feast.
I love you Tom Brady but your victories are aiding the bad guys.
/conflicted
Would you still say that if we got Reeves?
yes, just because they've already gotten Shutt, O'connor and probably burrows. I would be thrilled if we poached Reeves.
PSU is doing an equally bad job of keeping their commits as OSU (and others) are doing a good job of flipping them.
We'll always have 45-10
Wolverine god >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gator god
Urbs putting together a great class for Ohio. It does worry me a bit, but Hoke has put together a great class here. Here's to a revived and extremely competitive war with Ohio.
Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame are all loading up with high level recruits. Each are going to be national powers in a couple years. Sucks to be Michigan State having to play all three. Dantonio should just enjoy his current success while it lasts...which won't be much longer.
I don't know... Notre Dame may need a coach without a purple face first.
An underlying question to a lot of posts lately is the question of just how much OSU deserves to be punished. I realize that a lot of people would have liked for the sanctions to have been worse, but now that that's over, exactly what do people want? For the NCAA to say "You can't recruit anyone with four or more stars" or "You can't hire a coach who has won a national championship"? That doesn't happen.
It really is just frustrating, and typical. As much as I supported him, we suffered through three awful seasons under RR. Preceding RR, Carr couldn't beat Tressel, and the list goes on and on. I get so tired of OSU, and I just wish something (ANYTHING) would set them back like we were set back. The NCAA sanctions help, but I have a bad feeling about Meyer taking over.
I'm sure Meyer will succeed, but Michigan doesn't need OSU to be down to be good. OSU was really good under Cooper when they weren't playing Michigan. Michigan also doesn't need to pull in every top Ohio recruit. They only have to get some of them.
That's true, but things the NCAA can do like post-season bans and scholarship reductions do have a impact on a school's ability to recruit top talent. Not having a chance to play in a bowl for your first two years, or a program that may not be as competitive are certainly deterrents for top recruits that are fielding numerous competitive offers.
ohio Aside, any punishment, especially for lack of institutional control and beyond should be such that recruits will be VERY hesitant to go to that school for at least 5 years. That would bring the program back down to an even level. The infractions are that because the accused Unviersities had an added allure to players or gained an advantage somehow on the playing field. There needs to be a distinct and relevant pain inflicted to make the university much less desireable to attend in the near future. That is what I want.
Boo Hoo, we have a top 5 class and Hoke was up for every possible Coach of the Year award. I think we'll be alright. Ohio can't go to the postseason for 2 more years and Meyer is only expected to last 6 years at the most before he flakes out for whatever reasons.
I never expected the NCAA to make OSU into anything even remotely resembling a smoldering hole in the ground like they deserve, but not even skipping a beat? that's pretty sad in light of the shenanigans there the last 10 years.
Heads up kids, more cuts are coming. Welcome to the SEC (See Education Cut) recruit.
Wheres all the people who were glad Urbie is their coach? SMH, I hope you're happy! Dude passes us in recruiting in less than 2 months! Hoke, pick it up!
Hoke is putting the finishing touches on a great recruiting class. Meyer came into one of the top spots in college football (whether we want to admit it or not) with a class that was half-filled at best in a year in which Ohio is rich with talent. Then the PSU stuff happened. He was bound to pull in a bunch of guys at the end.
The only thing I'm unhappy about is your mother's decision to procreate...
I think it's important to note that the biggest names on Ohio's commit list are on the D-line, but at the same time we may have one of the all time great O-line classes finishing up with Garnett pretty soon. We're gonna have some good protection from those guys. I'm not that worried about them. At least not more than normal.
Dude, you can drop the act. We all realize that you only pop in here to vaguely compliment Ohio, defend Meyer, talk about how great they are and how fearful you are...just drop it. It's OK that you're an Ohio fan. Just man up, and we can have real discussions about football.
Yeah im an ohio fan, you sir are stupid...
Since when are you on a first name basis with that idiot ?. Fcvck him & ohio.
Urbs ? Refer to him as Urban Liar - & I would not show my displeasure.
I'll wager that the "Ohio" coach will have major migraines and be gone in less than 2 years.
He flakes as soon as life gets tough. He also wont be able to pull any of his recruiting shanangins at tO$U while they are on the nations B.S. radar. What's the stat, for every two wins he had at Florida, he had 1 player arrest...thats not going to fly with the current climate in Columbus.
The joy of beating Ohio is not beating them when their players have crap talent. The joy comes in beating Darryl Boston and shutting that ignorant, arrogant mouth of his with a monster hit that gets posterized - "Take That!"
I cannot wait for a couple of years from now seeing a picture of Kalis standing over some pancaked loser of a lineman with Rawls standing in the endzone and a headline, "Schutt Your Mouth!"
I don't care about Urban's recruits. I don't care how many female staffers he steps out with, or how many lies he tells or how many rules he breaks. We are Michigan! Hail!

Is "Darryl" related to David?
Wow. I think it's safe to say that Penn State is going away for a while.
BSD has a post up about some of the 2* players O'Brien is trying to recruit. Sad.
The O'Brien hire is looking like more and more of a head-scratcher with every passing day. If PSU's recruiting class implodes, it could screw them for years to come. Not to mention the fact that Michigan and OSU have already gotten a head start on 2013 recruiting. And yet PSU hires an NFL coordinator with no head coaching experience and no ties to PSU whose season might not end until two days before signing day? Makes no sense.
The Big Ten is not where a coach should learn to be a coach. I think there are a few conferences where a head job should't even be a coach's second HC job. B10, SEC, & B12 are those...possibly the Pac12 as well.
I will be enjoying (un)Happy Valley for many years. They had already alienated many of their season ticket holders by raising prices, moving seats, and instituting seat licenses. I should have no problem getting great seats the next time the Wolverines come to town.
Thanks, your insight is never welcome.
Apparently these kids could care less about the bowl ban and the negative press. Meyer could sell a book to a blind man.
notice how meyer is poaching msu, nd and psu, but he really can't touch our recruits.
i don't car how good meyer's recruits are. ours are just as good, if not better. we're in for some slugfests as long as hoke and meyer are at the helm, the way this rivalry is meant to be.
In fairness, I think the true test of Hoke and Meyer's recruiting prowess against each other will come when OSU's sanctions have run their course.
But yeah, I'm glad he hasn't been able to poach any of ours. Let him pillage our other rivals.
and giving them the business
He's just horsing around...
What's PED U mean?
It's good for the B10 and the world of college football for both Michigan and tsio to be good. It's even better when we beat a good Ohio team.
I still don't think Meyer getting hired by tsiO is going to be the windfall they hoped it would. Look at Florida after Dan Mullen and Charlie Strong left, offense dropped off and defense got roughed up by Alabama. Meyer primarily coached special teams. I think he'll be successful, but I don't see him having a run like he did with Florida (no Tebow).
Man you know your team is moving up, when fans of other schools have to come on your board and think they're doing anything other then making themselves look kind of callow
And I have only one word regarding all of the hype about tsiO's recent commits: Pipkins
