Hoke beat State 12-10 last time they met in A2. I don't know why Harbaugh beating them this year would come as a surprise to anybody.

Similarly, Hoke lost to the Sucks on a missed 2 point conversion last time they were in town.

Put me in the M beats both this year camp.

I just don't know what to believe anymore. I'm much, much more optimistic after the BYU beat down and Utah roasting Oregon, but I'm still a little nervous about how it all plays out, especially with MSU and OSU. If I had to choose one to beat, I think I'd rather see us beat MSU (I know, I know!). You expect OSU to be OSU. I'm tired of the new and improved Sparty.

What happens IF we beat both? HYPOTHETICALLY... Michigan beats Maryland, pulls out a close one against Northwestern, shocks or "upsets" Michigan State... You're possibly talking a top-10 team in the polls... That would be #22 beating #16(?) and then #2? I'm optimistic, but that's a tall task right now. I like the "one game at a time" mantra, but just thinking about beating both gets me high.

In the MSU game. Hoke beat a better MSU squad than this years version the last time they came to AA. Michigan will not only beat MSU but will probably win comfortably. That #2 ranking is laughable as they have been out gained for the year. Hell, Air Force even beat their weak secondary for big plays through the air. Hoke is not here anymore.

I'm not so sure. Michigan State will be up for that game. LJ Scott is the best RB they've had since Ringer/Bell and he could do damage. Remember we have Rudock... And their front-7 is pretty darn good. That being said, our Front-7 is pretty good too. I think this year's game (like most games against Sparty) is going to be decided by the team that can run the ball better. Time of Possession is going to be key in this game.

Are you serious? He might end up a very good back but how about waiting until he accomplishes something on the field. The MSU running game has struggled replacing Langford and was held to 84 yards on 42 carries against Air Force. MSU is not in the same world as good as they were last year.

In Harbaugh's first year at Stanford, he inherited a 1-11 team and beat #2 USC on the road. If I remember correctly, he more or less called it, too. Because of this, I was cautiously optimistic going into this season that he would lead the team to a victory against one of our chief rivals. I have seen nothing so far to temper my cautious optimism.

I wonder if Utah State's fan base is talking conf championship and beating Boise State despite being 1-2 (their 1 win being 12-9 over Southern Utah) - after all they only lost to "powerhouse" Utah by 10.

Y'all can neg me if you like, but I'd rather take this one game at a time and enjoy the ride. We've got 2 more weeks to prepare for what will be an all out war vs. Sparty. Still have to get through Maryland and Northwestern.

I love all the love we're starting to get-especially on SUNDAY NIGHT [NFL] FOOTBALL- but we need to focus one game at a time here. Every game on the schedule is "winnable", but at the same time, every single team we play from here on out is going to bring their best game against NFL Michigan

is all over Jim's Harballs. Shocking. It seems to me like both Sparty and the Bucks are far from elite status. They have both underwhelmed against inferior opponents, not to mention their recent struggles at the big house as of late. (With Hoke at the helm I might add)

Who do these guys think they are making predictions about the outcomes of Michigan's game? There's only one person whose prediction I would listen to. And he's probably gnashing his teeth right now wearing a block M hat, daydreaming about beating the Bucks again. Both games are gonna be a bloodbath. And not a decaffeinated Mormon bloodbath, either. The real fucking thing.

Not to take away from the OP post but I am getting a strong impression that Colin Cowherd has his thickest kneepads on when it comes to Jim Harbaugh.

Seriously does he think sucking up is going to get JH back on this show so he can get a ratings bump?  Don't like Colin much but it just seems so blatant so he can get some exposure for his show...maybe I'm old and skeptical!

Destroyed.  In an awesome and epic way.

MSU is irrelevant to me when we have a competent team.  Yes their fan base (est. 2007) is insufferable, but they are just irrelevant when we are performing at Michigan level.  MSU is only relevant when the rest of the B1G is down.  Worst thing anyone ever did was refer to MSU as "little brother," suggesting that we are somehow cut from the same cloth.  They're not even champions when they win.  That's why we see so many people talking about how "Spartan Pride means this or that ..." ... because nobody knows what it is.

OSU is the rivalry.  MSU is the creepy stalker who hates you but keeps your picture under their pillow.    I want to beat them, the same way I want to beat everyone else.  Michigan should be the winner.  But OSU is the 'rivalry' in my book.

And that is my own personal arrogant opinion.

ps.  I have no predictions.

I'd rather beat MSU this year. They have won like 30/34 games, finished in top 5 for two straight years, have kicked our ass badly 3/4 years. I'm sick of those assholes talking shit, I want to beat them and then go for two.
