Joel Hale commits to OSU

Submitted by Magnus on

It seems like there's been a run on commitments lately.  Joel Hale, a defensive tackle from Indiana, committed to OSU.  He held an offer from Michigan to play the 3-tech DT spot.

They are on a run because the other big boys on the block in the Midwest are in flux, UM and ND.  The only choice a recruit from this area has if they want to stay in the Big Ten at a big program is OSU or PSU, and apparently PSU is taking this year off in recruiting.

And it looks like it is going to fill up early. I know we are up against OSU for a lot of guys, but it should be easier on us soon due to the number of open spots they have left.

We'll see. According this this chart, the class will have room for 19 plus whoever leaves early (realistically, I would assume that Posey is gone and Williams is a strong possibility, if he has a good year). So figure 20-ish is the magic number. Of those, 14 spots are now taken (discounting the possibility of any future decommits).

So it's not that big a class, and it's almost full.
