Joe Bolden to play in Under Armour All American Game
Nice job, Joe!
Congratulations, and go have some fun and show them what the Blue is all about . . . .
I have a gut feeling that this kid is going to be our next great LB...
But where is he going to play? Unless he plays the MIKE, there won't be a linebacker spot open for a while.
And even then, Jenkins-Stone is a MIKE as well. I can has LB depth?
over when and where all this talent will get on the field. Which is a lot of fun.
I think Mattison has already demonstrated that SLB's will rotate often. If RJS (who I believe has already said he'd like to RS) and Bolden play that position, Ross at Mike, Ringer at WLB. That'd be just fine. Of course we're still thin at WLB, so whoever plays best may go there immediately.
For sure, its gonna be nice to try and fit talent onto the field; good problem to have. To me, Ross looks like a WLB; a little undersized, but fast (and hopefully thus, good in coverage) and diagnoses plays very well from the limited film I've seen. RJS seems like a MIKE; large frame, a little more like a guy that will clog up the middle, a little less quick in keeping the edge. Bolden looks to have lots of flexibility with his size/athleticism, and Ringer looks like a WLB which is great, because as you say, we lack good depth. God, this is gonna be a great problem to have trying to fit everyone in.
James ross, imo, will be the first to break the starting lineup in this class. He is very underrated and is one of the most hard-hitting and instinctual players I have ever seen. The LB position will be set for a few years.
makes me soo happy! :)
These guys are gonna make 3rd and 1 look like 3rd and 15 for opposing offenses. Michigan defense is back and not going anywhere.
Our linebackers haven't played great this year. Jake Ryan looks good, but he's been in a 3-point stance most of the time, and Bolden doesn't look like that type of player. Just curious about your rationale.
I think our LB corps has been pretty darn good, especially as of late. Both Morgan and Ryan have had their struggles, but they're also both freshmen and are improving every week. I doubt that any of the guys in this class will supplant our starters any time soon.
Also, for those mentioning lack of depth at the WILL, don't forget about Antonio Poole. He's redshirting because he needed to put on weight, but one good year of bulk and Poole will be pushing for a starting spot.
That makes three All-American Linebacker's coming to Michigan next season. Now that's a good look!!!
but who wouldnt want a 5 star reciever who is ranked the number 2 reciever in all the land? Plus he goes to a school who obviously coaches talent with the way Blake has come along as a true freshman. The coaches want him in a bad way it was just grades that were initially the problem.
are the grades taken care of yet? Could we sign him if he were inclined to do so?
he is good to go that is why the push from last month or so is been so strong. We made his top 5 or so, which is great considering we were pretty far out of it like 4 months ago.
Thanks much - I knew that we had been moving up a little in his eyes, but wasn't sure what the situation was . . .
land all of those young men, I am gonna need you to play the lottery for me. It is not out of the question, but that would be the greatest end of season haul ever. I pray your right cause we will be loaded for a long time wow.
I'd be really excited with Stefon Diggs. Having a great year so far at 8-2 will probably propel Michigan as the biggest recruiting power in the midwest.
maybe ND they can be as bad as they have been the last ten years and still get great classes. I mean 5 stars love bad ND teams doesnt matter. But we will be right up there without a doubt.
