Your title says something, but the message says nothing. I can't find anything yet on the Detroit papers or ESPN. I want to see what "major league ready" prospects we get.
link? What did we get? some info...
It's on MLB Trade Rumors
Don't know as of yet.
Inside the Tigers' War Room....
Looks like I need to pick up a new closer for fantasy. Shit.

AL or NL only leagues should allow you to keep players the whole season if a player is swapped to the other league. Only fair IMO.
Agree, but I think he's referring to the fact that Soria will probably be pitching the 8th inning for the Pirates. Mark Melancon is having a great year and I can't imagine he'd vacate the closer role.
Are you trying to set a record for most threads started in one day?

Championships, championships, and more championships for the Maize and Blue (and eventually for the Tigers and Red Wings, too.)
Ok, and also that Brian raises the OP threshold to 1000. And, of course, world peace.
i can't be trusted with this power either.
How about raising the limit to 190,000?
Who or what do they get in return?
"Title" doesn't say it all.
Looks like Price to the Jays is official though...
The return hasn't been announced yet.
It'll be interesting who will close for this team. Rondon has really struggled. Feliz hasn't been much better. I say throw the amazing Al in there. Or even give Hardy a shot.
in his tank.
He sucks ass. I could see Brad going with Bruce as the closer in the foreseeable future at least
The question is for how long?
It might work out better than expected. At least we'll get an idea of Norris, because he'll be starting this weekend. Verlander seems to be getting it together. Anibal will be okay. So a rotation of those three guys in 2016 may be solid. Get a 4th and 5th guy somewhere and this team should be cool.
I'm not worried about the offense at all either, as long as Victor and Miggy and JD stay fairly healthy.
We better get some damn good players. If we get a bag of balls for him I'm not going to be happy.
It probably won't be all that great a return, because it's a two month rental for a closer, but DD should be able to pull something off.
Rental set-up man. The Pirates already have a closer.
I am aware. A closer caliber reliever is probably what I should've said.
Yeah I was a bit nit-picky. No offense intended.
someone +1 this guy for me
Tigers are getting one minor leaguer in return per Jon Morosi on twitter.
As a native Pittsburgher, is this good or bad? I know nothing about Soria other than the Tigers bullpen is a disaster and he's a member of it.
Good for the Pirates. Soria is solid. 2.85 ERA. Converted 23 of 26 save opportunities.
He'll be a solid 8th inning guy and insurance in case the wheels fall off Melancon
Watson handles the 8th, and pretty well. We really needed a 7th inning guy. Hopefully he can handle that role. Or we just push Watson down. Sounds good.
Pirates will now boast one of the best 7-8-9 pitching trios with Watson, Soria and Melancon. They are serious World Series contenders imo.

Will have to get through LA though. They made some big moves today.

Very true. I'd love to see that series.

Probably got nothing out of the deal as usual

Well this is just ignorant as fuck.
Seriously. I don't understand why people can't comprehend what the Tigers are doing. All the players are free agents at the end of the year and the Tigers can't compete. The only rational move was to trade them for something of value.

The return for Soria is SS JaCoby Jones, a top 10-15 prospect in the Pirates organization depending on which ranking service you prefer. Based on Pirate fan reactions, though, they like him better than many of the prospects ranked ahead of him. Speed/power guy from what I understand.
He also plays WR for the Chargers. Oh wait, different guy
He's also an OF which I believe the Tigers will make the permanent move to OF. He was a good player at LSU
Yes, sounds like the Pirates were trying to move him to SS due to organizational depth in the OF. Tigers should be set with Iglesias for a while, so OF would seem like the place to go. He played centerfield at LSU, would be nice to have some pop from that position - AJax and Davis/Gose have some good qualities, but the power from that position hasn't been there since Granderson was dumped.
Pirates fans like him a lot. But he was blocked in the OF for a while, and that's where he is a better prospect. Sad to see him go, especially for a rental, but still.
That's a really solid return, if true. He swings and misses a lot, but shows good power and speed.
Is tittle what I think it means?
For the first time in a decade, but happy DD and co realized this team was not gonna do shit and they are trying to beef up the farm/team for players they may not have resigned anyway. Hopefully they play spoiler the rest of the year and screw some contenders over with a win or two along the way.
It is always a role of the dice when trading for these prospects, but it would be awesome if one of these guys turns out to be the next Miggy or Verlander.
But the odds of any prospect turning into Cabrera are about zero. Guys like him cone around about once every 10 years.
I think you forgot a zero on that.
