Jimmy King Sighting
One of the highlights of my homecoming weekend in AA was getting to chat with Jimmy King, who was sitting right behind us at Pizza House. He is an incredibly nice guy and obviously used to geeks like me pulling the "we went to school together" card and wanting to relive Fab Five memories. He was actually carrying a poster that he had signed for someone in his party. He showed it to us and I recognized immediately that it was him dunking in the Duke regular season game that went to OT. I recited the score from memory - 88-85 loss - and he gave me the look like "damn, dude, that's pretty impressive recall." He said "That was a tough one to lose." I didn't ask about the rematch in the national championship game!

Best dunker in Michigan history? My brother still wears his #24 with pride.

Petway would get a few votes. Webber would be up there too, but... it's Webber.

It's great to see him still showing love for the school after all these years.

I appreciate you posting about your experience with Jimmy. I actually was in line at a lunch place and Juwan Howard got in line behind me. I did a double-take because I had no idea he was still playing, let alone playing for the Bobcats. I was that "I went to school with you" guy and he was kind and said "Yeah, man, Go Blue!" in response.

Jimmy actually came into the restaurant I work at and I recognized him as soon as he came in and said "What's up Jimmy?" He smiled, came over and said whats up (handshake bro-hug combo) and went to his seat. I told my co-worker that she was waiting on a local legend and she had the nerve to ask what a fab-five was. I stared at her for a second then told her that I wasn't talking to her anymore. I still hardly say anything even remotely intelligent to the girl. When Jimmy was leaving he searched me out to say bye and give me a GO BLUE! I thought that was really cool. It was also really cool that he ran to get the car while his female companion waited inside to avoid the rain.

Jimmy is smooth with the ladies!

I think the gap in his front teeth gave him character and made him likable guy. Like a Michael Strahan.

Plus the name Jimmy reminds me of the Seinfeld episode titled "The Jimmy"
