Jimmah

I agree.... too bad he's like 24 and a junior. Creepy.
October 17th, 2009 at 7:54 PM ^
he's 22. However, there's still that creepy factor.

reminds me of Byron Leftwich. He'll get drafted, but I don't know that I'd want my favorite team to take him in the first round.

dudes got that bum toe too

Any reasonable chance he can declare for the draft after this year? One one hand, the next will be the last draft before they put those rookie salary caps. However, maybe there will be plenty of QBs going pro after this year, and Clausen will improve his chances of going higher after his senior season.

Kiper has him high on his board

from what they are saying. So most guys who are even close to NFL ready or just think they are will jump at the chance of cashing their winning lotto ticket and maximizing their earnings.
Since this uncapped status could just last for the 2010 season and the 2010 draft, why wouldn't a ton of guys (like Jimmah)jump at the chance?
Seems like a no brainer to me.

Too bad he pre read the last pass and not hit the wide open player in the back of the end zone
October 17th, 2009 at 7:55 PM ^
I was going to say the exact same thing. Also, the pass before that wasn't the best in the world, either.

He has to look off Mays (the safety) especially with a short field in the redzone or else he will blow up whatever receiver is about to get the ball.
The receiver slips on his cut, Clausen throws to the spot and the ball sails wide, end of the game.

Jimmah goes into the draft.

Scott Wright from NFLDraftCountdown thinks he's going pro, and if this is the last draft before the rookie salary scale I think we're going to be seeing a lot of guys leaving early.

Next year is an uncapped salary year. If he comes back for his senior year, he risks losing millions from the potential rookie scale. Unless of course, he is a top three pick after his senior year.

I agree that he is a great QB but yesterday i heard Lou Holtz, who i hate, said that Clausen is the Heisman leader currently. I laughed so hard, it really made my day. Anyways, Clausen has never won a big game and even this season is barely beating inferior teams, such as Purdue (debatable after their win today and taking ND to the wire) and Washington. I think that being considered the Heisman leader you really need to lead a team to big wins, such as against Michigan or USC.
Just curious if anyone truly is considering Clausen as the Heisman leader right now? I also think that this may be one of the most wide open Heisman races ever, as no individual really seems to be separating himself from the pack.

Last I checked though Jimmy wasnt giving up all the touchdowns the Defense is.

I don't get this reasoning at all. Clausen shouldn't win the heisman because he isn't leading his team to big wins... even though he is playing lights out every week and without him ND would be hopeless.
Should they give it to Colt McCoy, who continues to suck every week, since Texas keeps winning big games. Tebow has been average, but Florida has the best D in the country and ND's defense sucks.
Clausen deserves the heisman far more than those two. The award should go to a player who plays outstanding week after week, not whatever quarterback has talent around him to beat the top teams.

I agree that nobody has really seperated himself for the Heisman yet. There is a lot of season left, though, and a lot of chances for heroics. I think it will end up going to someone from a team that makes the NC game; Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow both have a chance to win it with a late-season surge.
It should be an interesting six weeks.

I could put up numbers throwing to the ND receivers.
It's disappointing though, re BCS SOS, if Floyd was still healthy, they could've given USC a better run. Not that I'd ever root for them.

no you couldn't
October 17th, 2009 at 10:15 PM ^
I could though.

is better. golden and forcier both

ND was impressive coming back late. Can't bring myself to compliment Clausen. Someone needs to show him what a jackass he looks like doing the head nod - almost as bad as using emoticons and "lol" in blog posts. However, Golden Tate is a stud.
