Jim Tressel Quotes George Bush [not political]

Submitted by DoctorDave on

In Tressel's public mea culpa last night he quoted George Bush saying, "The most pathetic thing is a leader looking for self-pity." Several other Bush quotes were apparently considered but did not make the cut:

  • "I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe -- I believe what I believe is right."
  • "See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."
  • "I wish you'd have given me this written question ahead of time so I could plan for it...I'm sure something will pop into my head here in the midst of this press conference, with all the pressure of trying to come up with answer, but it hadn't yet...I don't want to sound like I have made no mistakes. I'm confident I have. I just haven't -- you just put me under the spot here, and maybe I'm not as quick on my feet as I should be in coming up with one."
  • "There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on --shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again."

Dr. Dave assured everyone that he had in no way posted anything political.  However, Y! Sports crack research team quickly unearthed documents indicating that George W. Bush was, in fact, a political figure.

Dr. Dave  was promptly suspended for the Toledo game."

I don't care about how touchy this board is.

George W. Bush is human excrement and deserves ridicule.

Jim Tressel shows his true nature by aligning himself with such a horrible person.

Keep on posting brother.

It wasn't George Bush he was considering it was Charlie Sheen:

"D'uh winning..."

...or

""I'm tired of pretending I'm not a bitchin' rock star from Mars."

...or

"My success rate is 100 percent. Do the math."

See that fits so much better... or finally:

"We beg for nothing! Beggars beg, winners win! Period. The End. Suck it. Didn't make the rules."

I really don't view this post as being political in nature- not as it was intended anyway. It just makes sport of a political figure who left us with some spectacularly poorly worded quotes- one of which apparently resonated with JT. Where exactly does one look for SELF-pity anyways?
