Jim Harbaugh Wiki edit

Submitted by Bo's Hat 41 on
A user on Wikipedia interestingly named "Buckeye 69" recently edited Jim Harbaugh's Wikipedia page. The added text reads: He currently coaches the Michigan Wolverines, his alma mater. He has brought great success to the program, winning four national championships in his first four years as head. He has yet to lose a game as Michigan's head coach, and it appears he never will. In fact, he has brought such great success back to the program that his colleague, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, is quoted as saying " I can't lie to you guys (referring to media) about my heart problems anymore. "I'm just sick of getting my a** handed to me by that guy." Harbaugh's other significant rival, Mark Dantonio, has not been spotted since the infamous "Great Lakes Gouging of 2015". Urban Meyer is currently vying for a position on Brady Hoke's staff at Texas State. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Harbaugh -end- Boy wouldn't that be great. This guy is either a Walmart wolverine posing as a concerned buckeye fan or a buckeye fan with a love for sarcasm.

If I had to guess, I'd say that this was done as a parody of the incredibly over the top Harbaugh love (not that I can totally blame you considering your last decade).

I really don't think it is concern, even if I think Harbaugh will do really well for you guys.

This is pretty funny actually, albeit immature. Gotta be able to laugh at ourselves. But I will let a dude called Buckeye 69 who has the time on his hands to make this edit speak for itself.

Throughout the fall the rhetoric from Buckeyes and Sparties was "Harbaugh will never come back to Michigan because he hates his Alma mater" then after he was hired it turned into "he's overrated/they are at least 5 years from winning more than 6 or 7 games in a season and by then he will go back to the NFL." It will be interesting to see what they say after we beat Utah on Thursday.

Exactly what I have been saying. Buckeye and sparty honks were also saying the one guy they did not want the coach (back when RR was fired and when Hoke was announced) is Harbaugh. As you stated, now that it happened, he is not going to last and overrated. That is a perfect example of being worried that Michigan is going to be a damn good football team soon.

who think Harbaugh is overrated.  I think it is more of a case of not being concerned about it because we have Meyer and the NC.  That tends to trump all else.

Harbaugh will have you guys pretty formidable in about 2 years.  ALthough I'd be lying if thoughts of '69 weren't popping up on our side too.

of all these backtracked comments and new excuses.  Harbaugh will never leave the NFL, his wife loves SF, he hates recruiting, he's not a good recruiter, he was only 29-21 at Stanford, he'll be back in the NFL in two years...ect.

I did love hearing that Bacon said Da Bears were going to offer 10 million a year and Harbaugh didn't want to hear thier offer.

This could have been so much better if the user had actually made it seem to meld into the actual article rather than tack it onto the end of a paragraph, and after it already establishes certain facts about Harbaugh's past and present. Still, we can dream that such a scenario unfolds, eh? Texas State with Urban's "power spread" looks, if you will, could become quite the program.

Most readers of this thread seem to grasp that "Buckeye 69" is not a name an OSU fan would choose. Not sure about the OP. Seems like both the name and the edit are some good preseason humor from an actual fan...

Its just my opinion, but I for one am not a fan of the term. Guy I work with didn't go to UM for a variety of legit reasons; but the guy bleeds maize and blue.

My Dad was a huge UM fan; loved Bo. But he graduated from UD. (in the 50's. His final exams his senior year weren't written, it was an interview with the prof. Dang!) It didn't make him less of a fan.

But I use that term with some of my friends who are not and I let them know that I consider it a badge of honor to spite those who would denigrate fans who did not go to the school. Part of this may also be directed at some of my fellow alumni who seem to believe that you cannot be a true Wolverine unless you studied in Ann Arbor. To me that's equally bad. So I just flip the script.
