Jim Harbaugh visits his friend Willie Mays
What do you do the day after the Super Bowl in San Francisco if you are Jim Harbaugh? Go to Willie Mays' house to hang out, of course.
The Michigan coach, who spent plenty of time in Northern California with the Niners and Stanford, checked in on the "Say Hey Kid" on Monday because Harbaugh is friends with every famous person on the planet, it seems.
Harbaugh does nothing halfway, so he showed up in a Mays jersey and snapped a picture with a bat in his hands. The best part of the pic isn't Harbaugh dressed up, it's the fact that Willie Mays is such a baller that he has a leather recliner with "Say Hey" stitched into the back of it, so you know whose chair that is.

"Say Hey Kid" is truly one of the best nicknames in sports.

I actually caught this story before I saw the thread, so I wasn't shocked, but then when I read the story, I wasn't shocked then - this is yet another "only Jim Harbaugh" moment and it is awesome like the rest of them. You begin to ask yourself - where has Harbaugh not been? Who doesn't he know? It makes you enjoy the fact that he's our football coach that much more really.

Jim Harbaugh is like an electron . . . he is everywhere simultaneously.

Two legends, and make no mistake, Mays is the bigger one here. GOAT center fielder. Glad to see the say hey kid is still doing well.

Hard to argue with this but imagine being a kid in NY discussing this with your friends and they are arguing for Mickey Mantle or Duke Snider at the time. Three HOF CF's playing in the same city at the same time.
February 9th, 2016 at 12:14 AM ^
3 HOF center fielders playing Major League Baseball at the same time is awesome enough, but all in the same city?
That's mind-bottling!

mind boggling too!

Taking a picture with Willie Mays is impressive, but it would be REALLY impressive if he takes a picture with BILLY MAYS.
February 8th, 2016 at 10:20 PM ^
Awesome. Coach is always finding cool photo ops with famous friends. its not just to promote Michigan, but its to promote the famous friend as well. In this case, recognizing Willie Mays for his greatness to the new generation of twitter followers.
February 8th, 2016 at 10:29 PM ^
Or he's just a huge baseball fan that is geeking out that he gets to hang out with Willie Mays.
Not everything is about social media and promotion.

The Sitch is a friend of both programs. Since he's the only friend of either program, Tizzo and Dantino are locked in an eternal battle for his affections.

At Dantino. I pictured Marks menstrual cycle face on Dino the dinosaur from the Flinstones.

The BTN could do a The Journey series just on Jim Harbaugh.
Everybody would watch, even people that hate Michigan and Harbaugh.
February 9th, 2016 at 10:59 AM ^
Especially people who hate Michigan and Harbaugh. Then they would whine about how unfair it is and how he doesn't really deserve their attention.

Willie Mays imho was the greatest all around baseball player ever. Very cool that Coach goes to see his friend the Say Hey Kid on his trip to the Bay area.
