Jim Harbaugh is on Twitter!

Submitted by BursleysFinest on

Seems like Jim Harbaugh may have just joined twitter under the name:

@CoachJim4UM

There have been no tweets just yet.  No clue whether this is the real Jim Harbaugh, but the account is followed by the @umichfootball and @umich (2 official UM twitter accounts) which makes me lean towards it being him.

Harbaugh on twitter could be real interesting, hopefully it's real!

(Edited to add a link to the twitter account and to remove the"Maybe" from the title.  This looks to be Harbaugh's legit twitter as several posters have said below).

It's legit. I read somewhere that Michigan was already working on getting him a twitter. Isn't verified yet, but official U-M athletic department accounts are following it so it's legit.

I cannot, I repeat CANNOT, wait for the first time him and Drew Sharp get into it. I'm sitting here like a schoolgirl giddy with the anticipation...

That and any "what's your deal" exchanges with Dantonio.

Harbaugh is gonna make football season fun again!!!!!

That SF gate writer completely misses the mark in his article. Jim Harbaugh's tweets aren't nonsensensical inner thoughts. In the past, he's actually put cryptic messages regarding the Stanford football program in his tweets. Here's an SI article I remember reading in 2010 about Harbaugh's Twitter account. Those thinking his Twitter account at UM will be pointless to follow should give this article a read:

Even if he never responds to more than a handful, the idea that he does at least make himself accessible in this manner is something I like, especially when he lets his personality shine a bit on his account. A minor but also refreshing change in attitude eminating from Schembechler Hall, I think.

I never, ever understood why Hoke wouldn't do this.

"[Harbaugh tweet": I sense opportunity in the air today. I saw the Greek god Kairos racing swiftly across the Stanford field in my dream last night. Be ready!

Rivals.com told me the commitment came a night earlier from 6-4, 220-pound Flushing, N.Y., receiver Devon Cajuste, who pledged to play for the Cardinal after a standout performance at Stanford's camp. This handy list of Greek deities told me that Kairos was the god of opportunity, or, more specifically, of the opportune moment. It also told me the god's name can be spelled Caerus. That version looks a little more like the mystery recruit's name. But Harbaugh hadn't dreamt it; Cajuste had made the most of his opportunity at the camp."
