The Jim Harbaugh radio show: coming to Pizza House this fall (hopefully)
As many of you know, Michigan football and basketball coaches have long appeared in weekly radio shows for Inside Michigan Football/Basketball. While Brady Hoke and John Beilein were and are certainly local celebrities in their own rights, Jim Harbaugh is undoubtedly on another level. Will he take the time out of his maniacal weekly preparations to appear on the radio for an hour every week in the fall? Considering even the deity himself Nick Saban obliges to appear weekly at Bob's Victory Grille in Tuscaloosa (in front of capacity crowds of course), it seems more than likely that this tradition will continue here in Ann Arbor as well.
As big of a hire as this is for Michigan Football, it could be even bigger for Pizza House. Think of the reservation timetable for a Wednesday 7:00 table for two in the upstairs radio room. Dorsia? No thanks, see you at Pizza House. The crowd will surely hang on every word. In the weeks following rivalry wins the scene on Church and South U will be electric. Who's calling in their seats already?

I was wondering the same thing...My family used to go to the Hoke show every week his first and second year...was really cool to be up close an personal...Im really hoping I can make it to a few shows this year if he does it...maybe snag a pic and a signature as well! ;)

Went to the PH for the first time the other night after dropping my kid off at school. I figured nice college bar, couple beers...the bill came and it was $18 for two pints with tip! Those are NYC prices...never again.

Are you kidding? I bet Harbaugh will love it. Friendly fluff media questions and pizza are right up his alley.

I was kinda thinking they'd do it on TBT and broadcast from Mr. Spots.

I'll almost invariably stop in for a milkshake at least whenever I am in town in the spring / summer in particular. Actually, if they could squeeze everyone in, that wouldn't be such a bad spot for the show - I can see Harbaugh fielding questions while downing a tub-o-shake, although wouldn't presume a guess as to the flavor.

The good ol' days. Here's hoping my daughter goes to Michigan in the fall and lives on Central Campus. Life won't be quite the same without the Blue Front and Campus Corner, but it'll do.

Blue Front is back under new ownership. A younger grad bought it and really cleaned up the place. Campus Corner is still very much alive and well.

Did Hoke continue to do them even after the losses started piling up this year?
January 7th, 2015 at 3:07 PM ^
the number of people coming out really dwindled to the point of being kind of sad. Maybe someone who attended one of the later ones can verify this however.

If a tree falls in the forest .....

Was always surprised Brandon didn't have Hoke do the shows in a Dominos lobby.

Pizza House is going to have a dress code on Tuesdays? Khakis, no jeans?
January 7th, 2015 at 3:09 PM ^
Maybe Red Robin is a better venue?

I want pizza.

what I wouldn't give for a deep dish pizza house pizza.
Yeah yeah, I'm sure there are much better deep dish pizzas in the Ann Arbor area, but Pizza House was my first introduction to deep dish, and they were tasty as all heck.
In conclusion, I also want pizza.

I love the Anthony's pizzeria on Main (think they have one somewhere else too, maybe on Stadium?) for deep dish. They do great stuffed pizzas and Sicilians style too.
But Pizza House is good. Open forever and it's pretty good food, if a bit overpriced on the pizza.

and was amazed. I remember Pizza House being in an old white house, I think close to Ricks. The new location is huge! Food was great though.

I hope Coach goes back to Michigan Replay like it was done in the old days. If not that then the radio show is fine. But honestly, as long as we win games then I won't care.

Bring back Michigan replay

I wonder if I can get this song as my ringtone.

Try this: http://makeownringtone.com/ I'm going to give it a shot when I get home from work.

Brian uses it for his MGoPodcasts. It's "Across 110th Street".

I always wondered why that song was the lead-in to the podcast. I figured there had to be some connection. Now I know ... :-)

Bobby Womack's Across 110th street or another version?

Here's a 30-second long iPhone ringtone of that song I just made that anyone can use: http://tbf.me/a/BPwlu5
Steps to put it on your phone: Download the .m4r file. Add it to your iTunes Library, which will automatically drop it in your ringtones section. Plug in your phone and sync it to iTunes, then it'll be in the list to assign as your ringtone!
The download link is only valid until December 12th, so get it while it's hot!

I love this song and podcasts. Why don't we have more podcasts?

I liked watching Michigan replay on Sunday mornings as opposed to Inside Michigan football on Wednesdays. Wasn't nearly the same.

For me Red Robin.
