Fuck off don. Are you a little upset that your wife left you because you spend your entire fucking day on sports blogs? Get a life dbag.

amazing time for Harbaugh right now. He is enjoying the time with the team and getting the news about Patterson being eligible should invigorate him even more. I am sure he was expecting the news but hearing it more from an official standpoint has to be exhilarating. Pieces of the puzzle are falling into place and I can't wait for the season to get here. Go Blue!!!

Eh, it doesn't really become a major problem until we get the inevitable round of sarcastic / satirical threads highlighting random people in Paris, so while separate threads is certainly not space-efficient, it isn't a catastrophe in this case. Besides, what realistically are we pushing to the second page in April?

I came across the second video after I had finished posting the first. Apparently this was a pretty bad faux pas because someone spent a few minute giving me about 60 downvotes.

I was completely unaware of this rule of not posting 2 posts. I can see a few people assumed the worst.

I've been a few times with friends who live there and are married/connected to Parisians so admittedly had a different experience than someone who went without that. Helps a lot to be with someone at least conversational in French.

Would agree that many don't suffer tourist strangers, but Americans abroad aren't always *great* guests.

I have lived in Geneva for 15 years and speak French... maybe it's just because the French around here also have bad attitudes so I lump in Parisians with that group.

Having said that... they did screw me with the SNCF rolling strike as my train to Paris was cancelled and I had to book an expensive flight... then on the same trip a few days later, the French air traffic controllers were on strike and delayed my plane... therefore, the French do not sit well with me.

If you go to Paris and loudly shout at strangers in English, yes, some people will be put off.  I've seen tourists do that - it's cringeworthy.

OTOH, if you make a little effort to greet people in French (no matter how terrible your French is)  and generally avoid being the loudest person in the room, you shouldn't have many issues.

Eh, Michiganders are as nasal in their speech as French people.  And frog legs are really good (escargot, I'm not as into).  After getting used to eating French cuisine every day, coming back to American food can be rough.

And like any other big city, lots of aholes rushing around who get annoyed when you're in their way.. Many are detestable simply because they think you have to dress in Armani to go down to the cafe and have a coffee. Now if you get out into the country you will see the real France, a great place with awesome people and much better food. The first and only awful meal I have eaten in France was in a latin quarter Greek restaurant. Any Greek place in metro Detroit would blow the doors off that dump.

Probably because he's new and people suspect he's someone that's been banned. Which is petty and shows that some people need to get past their being bullied in HS days. As far as asking what to do....Group Think and Mob Mentality are always great ideas.

Which is unfortunate because it dissuades other “new” people like myself from posting new topics. I’ll occasionally consider it, then remind myself that I don’t feel like getting needlessly flamed by a bunch of internet trolls. Casually observing has always been more my forte anyway

You're probably right to stay away. You'll get someone running through you comment history downvoting you.

The truth is, I didn't know both videos existed when I posted the first one. I came accorss the second one after I had finished posting the first one.

Here's the funny thing---I assumed people on here would want to see both videos. I checked first before posting BOTH of the them to see if anyone else had posted either already. Didn't see them anywhere. What a crazy thought to have occurred to me that the readers here would like to see them.

Silly me.

No, I'm an avid reader of the site and the comments and it's hilarious how people like YOU latch on to newbies because you have nothing better to do with your life. The reason i never created an account was because of people like YOU, but I figured oh well there's douchers everywhere. Sorry you were picked on in HS, it will all be ok, those people don't care about you anymore and you shouldn't care about them either. Let it go.

I love the bit right at the midpoint of the video where he talks about them not being on their phones--great punch line.

I also appreciated that he said he didn't do the planning for this trip. I defended him when people complained about the Rome trip as a distraction, but hearing him explain how much work he put into planning that trip I'm now not so sure. Either way, though, this seems to me to be a great thing for the players to be able to do.
