Jim Hackett Michigan Daily Interview

Points of interest for me
-There will be less RAWK music and more marching band.
-Harbaugh is making the team wear black shoes.
-A decision on Adidas will be made by the end of this year.
-Believes that game day experience should be different than a pro stadium.
-Harbaugh will have a lot of input on alternate uni's.
GETS IT
Well I'm sure all he had to do was google "Dave Brandon" along with "controversey" "tenous" or any other negative adjective and do the exact opposite.
Whomever downvoted this lovely pic of Denard is someone who clearly enjoys killing puppies, kittens, dolphins (via punch), and unicorns.

SOOOOOO glad there will be more marching band, and less rawk music.
SOOOOOO glad Hackett prefers having a distinction between collegiate and pro football stadium experiences.
Actually, I'm a little excited about enforcing black shoes: It's the opposite of uniformz. It's tradition. It feels like the Michigan of yore.
I like it.
black hi-top cleats are a thing of beauty. my kids watch my old game films and can spot me instantly just by seeing the cleats, when all else is obscured.
It's like Jim Hackett's brain was constructed only by mgoblog comments. I like it.
one of us.
He's one with us.
He's won with us.
And he'll win with us. In all ways. Always.
His brain wasn't constructed by mgoblog comments. Nowhere in that article does he mention Kate Upton.
Thank God
This is what an AD should be.

Somewhere Ricky Leach is smiling......
Shit - even Adidas & Pumas look good in black
+ winning
EDIT: Dammit.
Quarter-stuffed marshmallows, anyone?
Marshmellows... they need to come back!
Hackett should spend the next 3 years training Jim Minick to be his successor.
It sounds to me like his wife would like to get on with retirement and family.
"Hackett deferred to her when asked how long he plans to stay in his current position.
“We have a granddaughter due any day now, we have two sons, one in L.A., one in Greensboro,” Kathy Hackett said. “We have two granddaughters and this third one coming. We’re back and forth, we don’t really have time. I will answer: There’s lots to be done and he will see to it (until) he feels it’s all good.”
“That’s well said,” Jim Hackett agreed."
-A decision on Adidas will be made by the end of this year.
I hope they bring back white socks at home.
Let's just do it after Jaylen Brown enrolls, mmmmkay?
Can you get a refund?
This is great for me because I just put down my deposit for next year!

Black shoes = lower pad levels
Hackett said the process of evaluating which brand of apparel Michigan’s teams will wear going forward is still in its early stages. The Athletic Department has sent out questionnaires to student-athletes, and Hackett has spent time calling athletic directors at other schools to gauge their thoughts, in addition to speaking with former Michigan football players now playing in the NFL.
There was a thread about this survey a couple weeks ago, and I will say that I would like to see a breakdown by sport as well as overall just to see if there are differing opinions on the subject of which direction Michigan should take on the matter. I was very pleased to see the AD getting consumer input on this one actually.
He is uniting the fanbase with his hires and ideas! Pretty exciting to have the block M back in every facet!

I love the old school moves.
I know the kids like their phones, but eTickets are stupid and are a Brandon-esque move. I still have tickets from most every game I've gone to. I don't really have them in one place, but shoved in junk drawers and boxes in the basement. Every once in awhile I will stumble across one and remember the game, the weekend, my friends and my school. An app (and the phone for that matter) are ephemeral.
And always remember,
Go Blue!
"etickets are stupid" -- WestQuad
"Airplanes are interesting toys but of no military value." -- Marechal Ferdinand Foch, Professor of Strategy, Ecole Superieure de Guerre
"There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home." -- Ken Olson, president, chairman and founder of Digital Equipment Corp., 1977
"We don't like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out." -- Decca Recording Co. rejecting the Beatles, 1962
and exhale.....
