Points of interest for me

-There will be less RAWK music and more marching band.

-Harbaugh is making the team wear black shoes.

-A decision on Adidas will be made by the end of this year.

-Believes that game day experience should be different than a pro stadium.

-Harbaugh will have a lot of input on alternate uni's.

SOOOOOO glad there will be more marching band, and less rawk music.

SOOOOOO glad Hackett prefers having a distinction between collegiate and pro football stadium experiences.

Actually, I'm a little excited about enforcing black shoes:  It's the opposite of uniformz.  It's tradition.  It feels like the Michigan of yore.

I like it.

Love everything about this article. Even that he's not sure how long he's staying. He's open minded and focused and he and his wife care about the condition of the department when he leaves. Love it! Looking forward to more marching band this fall!!

Black shoes + high white socks + helmet stickers + Harbaugh - Rawk Music = the Michigan football when I was mGrowYoung.

I really hope that Hackett stays for a while. He's done nothing but great things since his arrival. Once he leaves, I truly hope he gets to pick his successor. That's about the only way I will be comfortable in the search.

It sounds to me like his wife would like to get on with retirement and family.

"Hackett deferred to her when asked how long he plans to stay in his current position.

“We have a granddaughter due any day now, we have two sons, one in L.A., one in Greensboro,” Kathy Hackett said. “We have two granddaughters and this third one coming. We’re back and forth, we don’t really have time. I will answer: There’s lots to be done and he will see to it (until) he feels it’s all good.”

“That’s well said,” Jim Hackett agreed."

I hope they bring back white socks at home.

I think Jim Hackett must be an MGOBLOG reader. The guy does absolutely nothing wrong, unreal. Or maybe Hackett is the oracle.

Hackett said the process of evaluating which brand of apparel Michigan’s teams will wear going forward is still in its early stages. The Athletic Department has sent out questionnaires to student-athletes, and Hackett has spent time calling athletic directors at other schools to gauge their thoughts, in addition to speaking with former Michigan football players now playing in the NFL.

There was a thread about this survey a couple weeks ago, and I will say that I would like to see a breakdown by sport as well as overall just to see if there are differing opinions on the subject of which direction Michigan should take on the matter. I was very pleased to see the AD getting consumer input on this one actually.

I love the old school moves.

I know the kids like their phones, but eTickets are stupid and are a Brandon-esque move.  I still have tickets from most every game I've gone to.  I don't really have them in one place, but shoved in junk drawers and boxes in the basement.   Every once in awhile I will stumble across one and remember the game, the weekend, my friends and my school.   An app (and the phone for that matter) are ephemeral.

Pretty soon you will not remember the game or the weekend. You will not recognize your friends. The most recent memories go first. Hoarding is one of the first signs. Wishing you the best.

And always remember,
