Jim Delany in a Character Conundrum/Late Night Drinking Thread

Submitted by jhackney on

Did anyone see Jim Delany's B1G Championship trophy presentation?

He recapped the game, while fighting back tears of having a B1G team in the BSCS championship.

Do you think Mr. Delany will have nightmares/tears after little brother won the B1G championship?

This.  "Little brother" is so much more than football.  It's about the constant attention, the feeling of anger and rejection of not getting into Michigan, the understanding of exactly how much better we are in almost everything, and the massive inferiority complex that infects virtually every single one of their pathetic fans.  Regardless of how much success they have, they will always be little brother.

And this is why we are a hated fan base. Nothing is always true all of the time.
Do I have friends who are MSU fans exactly how you described, yes and I have already heard from them. I don't think it's a fair representation of their fan base.
Some times Little Brother grows up to be bigger and stronger than Big Brother and gets out all of that frustration that they had over the years. That's what's happening. Instead of acting like we are better, let's actually be better by being better sports and don't be a Canoe and let them be happy, since it is their first Rose Bowl in my lifetime.
We will get them next year, but until then we should be quiet.

I think we should quit using the term, not because about what it says about them, but what it says about us. It makes us look small, particularly when they've beat us like a drum for the past seven years. You can talk when you win. Better yet, be above the trivial as a norm. It was a funny comment when Hart made it forever ago. It should have remained a one-time funny comment by a player after a game.

I think he was a little thrown off by the MSU fans booing when he tried to give a little praise to OSU who played well and was 24-0 coming in to this game. Stay classy MSU fans.

Sports are definitely weird. If Ohio State and MSU played again on a neutral site next week, OSU may still be favored. But that's how it works. Bama may be the "better" team than Auburn. But Auburn beat them and that's all that matters. The best measure we have is head-to-head, even if one team is at home. It will be FSU-Auburn in the MNC. I am 100000000000000000% positive of that, and honestly I can't argue with the BCS on this one.

Excuse? Look at their schedule this year. Their best win is over a three loss LSU team and their second best win is a four loss Va Tech team. Everyone is so blinded by their two championships that they ignore the current season and overrate their schedule.

Now that Auburn and Michigan State will be kindred spirits for the near future, how about we set up a mixed tag team match

Michigan and Alabama vs. Auburn and Michigan State

I hold zero sympathy towards Delaney. Clearly showed this week when he didn't suspend Hall that he was willing to do anything to ensure OSU a spot in the title game.

That public reprimand of his was a load of crap.
