Wow
A posting Trifeca: 1-bad source, 2-incorrect title (he said he was thinking about retiring) and most importantly 3-a duplicate of something literally two threads down.

Great work OP....you should be very proud.

USA Today is a legitimate source. The thread two down says there is speculation that he may be sick of his position. It is not a hard news alert stating, unequivocally, that he is stepping down. This is. Rather than being a cock, just read the post.

What, has he some kind of Messiah complex, thinking he's so uniquely qualified for the position that it will take years to find a replacement? Haha, a random selection at any bus stop would net a better candidate.

In other news, it is WD's birthday, Jourdan Lewis wants to play offense, Anquan Boldin was signed by the Lions, and James Franklin whines about negative recruiting but is actually the guilty party of negative recruiting

The OP was correct in that the other thread doesn't offer more than the speculation, whereas now a few outlets are indeed running with the story that he is definitely set to step down in 2020, so we can leave this thread.

There is precedent for doing this on the blog anyway - the "might happen" thread is often followed relatively quickly with the "will be happening" thread and generally we leave both because merging in this interface is hard. Actually, it isn't possible, insofar as I know.

Hollis would be a trillion times better, hate to say it, but he's one of the better ADs in the country and has grown and expanded MSU more than anyone could've ever imagined.

I'd love to see him gone from EL and in this role.

Just fix the fucking schedule first so he's not involved.

That sad, bias aside...I feel Hackett would be a slam dunk for the entire conference. In knowing what a commish does, what they have to balance and do for a living, I actually think Hackett may be better at it than he was an interim AD.

Hire Hackett!!

He should've been gone when Carr retired in 2007-08, right after he launched BTN.

Should've went out on top just like Carr. He would be a legend.

Now he's a fucking punchline.

corporate shill who does far more harm than good is leaving, let's not throw a parade

my favorite delaney shenanigans might be when he was at "the game" in 2003, which decided the conference title, and he was like "why would you want to change this?" Then later he got all-in behind CCG at a cement hole like indy, and adding teams that will never generate as much excitement as "the game," like maryland/rutgers

and he won't be able to pic his predecessor and unable to have any input what so ever around the dealings of the B1G we may have something to celebrate. I read above that he has been screwing UM since 1989 it seems like 1959. He has made his career all about "giving the finger" to UM while simultaneously bending over backwards to give athletic advantages to the rest of the B1G. He would or will forever be on vacation while the rest of college football heaps piles of manure on UM, satellite camps being the most recent example. Trust me that is a small example and there are so many more.

If he does in fact step down while I am alive. drinks are on me, We will party till the break of dawn. We will pop a bottle of bubbley in honor of Bo and the rest of UM alumni in football heaven who were unable to live to witness the day a day that will live in infamy that this jackass steps down or die's of old age. Whichever comes first, here's to praying it's the first one.  Go Blue!
