...recovery.  Somehow, we did miss this. You can't get enough Jim Abbott retrospectives, IME.

I'm with you here -- The Daily's sports desk continues to do itself proud with these long form articles.  I'm just pleased that they realize there's so much Michigan sporting legacy to be mined and that they're delivering these chunks of solid gold to the current students (and through the magic of the interwebs -- to all of us).

Thanks for posting this, it was a great read.  As someone in a situation similar to Abbott's (my left hand is like his right), I have followed his career since I was a kid and drew a ton of inspiration from his example.  He was a great athlete and competitor, and he taught me a lot about wanting to win because it was who he was, not because he was trying to make up for his hand or prove people wrong.  He's an all-around class act who made the world a lot better for a lot of people, myself included.

Saw this, great to hear about Jim and what he's up to nowadays. I was in school in Ann Arbor when he came to Michigan, and he really sparked a lot of interest in the baseball program.

Great to see this kind of content from our student newspapers these days. Go Blue!
