From Rivals, it looks like Terry Talbott is a DT while Jibreel Black is a strongside DE. Are there position swaps that aren't mentioned on there?
FWIW Black is listed as the 15th DT on Scouts.
No offence to the smaller, but it would blow to lose the one we wanted and take the smaller who was offered primarily to get the larger.

How the hell do you know if we took the smaller to get the larger? Did RR tell you that? No? STFU.
While I don't think that's true in this case, sometimes Rich Rodriguez doesn't have to tell us something for us to infer it is true. This forum would not exist if that were the case.
Ok I apologize for the asshole comment above. But it's pretty stupid for some random MGoBlog forum poster to declare (without any hard evidence) that a recruit who is set on coming to Michigan only got an offer to lure in his brother. Especially considering that we have equal and/or lower rated DB's in this class. If he ends up being buddies with Bruce Tall or Tony Dews or something, then I'll gladly take back my words.
This recruiting class is turning out to be really good I am very impressed at how well Rich Rodriguez does in closing out when National Signing Day comes around.

Welcome to the family Jibreel. When asked who he is most like in the NFL he stated, "Lamarr Woodley" as his answer. Here's to hoping that's true.
On a side note, I guess we know now why Terry Talbott is exploring his options.

i wonder what this means re: the Talbotts and the UNC visit.
It'll be interesting to see how this turns out with them. This puts our class at 26, the goal according to RichRod. I assume he would still accept Parker/Knight, but it would certainly become clearer if something happened to the Talbotts. If Terry leaves, is Terrence gone as well?

But he's only a 3-star...Oh NOES!!!

Looks like it's down to Rashad or Sean to complete our class.
Knight is no slouch, I would love to have either one

Knight has some sick moves when he has the ball
moved well for his size and chased down a few RBs. But looks like he could lose a few pounds and become an even more explosive and disruptive DE.
definitely lose a few pounds when Barwis gets ahold of him.
AJ Bluefan
He seems to get a little 'tall' at times, but it looks like he can get off the ball really well.
I'm curious to see whan happens when he orders the "Will Campbell Special" from the Barwis Menu o' Body Re-shaping.
Yea, that jumped out at me right away. He seems to explode up more so that out, which takes away a little of his explosiveness off the snap. He can get away with that in high school because of his talent, but that's going to have to be corrected immediately or else he's going to get pancaked a lot.
He looks adept at disengaging from blockers, but not once did use anything but a bull rush, so this kid obviously has a high upside once he develops a killer spin move a la BG.

Are you saying he needs to work on his pad level?

Black does play high, but I don't think it's as much of an issue as you might think. Obviously, his leverage would be better if he played with a good lean. But since he's only 6'2" and he'll be going up against tackles who are probably 6'5" to 6'7", he should still be able to get under their pads.
It's not a big concern for me. The coaches will work on his pad level, and he'll be even more explosive than what you saw on film.
One question remains: Will he still take his official to IU next weekend?
As an IU student but a huge Michigan fan I will have to show him why he should not go to IU. It shouldn't be to hard the football team is awful and none of the students care about the game they just want to tailgate.
If I would have been born in Michigan I would be an alum but since I was born in Indiana, I am a freaking IU alum, but a die hard Michigan fan. Damn state school tuition. I agree most of the students at IU could care less about about the football games it is all a social gathering.
I was also born in Indiana, Fort Wayne yeah it was much cheaper to go to IU then pay for out of state school but i would love to be at Michigan
On another note I played football for my high school last year against Roderick Smith who is the running back committed to Ohio State. He is a big back who is very strong and started since he was a freshmen, but he will not be that dominating running back like a Beenie Wells he is not a running back who will run you over.
Scout lists his strengths as: Body Control and Balance, Intensity/Effort and Explosion...
That's what she said?
Flush twice - it's a long way to Columbus.
they list his weaknesses as "Techniques and moves." Not exactly what you want to hear from her...
Washington has 30 commits?!?! Seriously. (Where they rank the teams.)
Talk about drinking the kool-aid, since I thought the NCAA limit was 28.
Interesting to see what happens withParker and knight going forward.

I have a feeling that this commitment will have little to no effect on at least one of those guys. We'll still get one if he wants to come, whether it's because of a non-qualifier or a kid who gets Barnes-ed or whatever.
How can we Barns a commit so close to NSD? Do the coaches give the kids some kind of notice or stop contacting them earlier? I just felt like Barns switched his commitment much earlier on in the process.

We politely tell them that it would be best for their future to explore other options because it is unlikely they will have a future playing football at U of M.

I see. So if a commit were to get Barns'd, do you think the coaches would have already done it?

Yeah I am with you. How do you "politely" tell a kid this late in the process to hit the road.
Que sera sera
No. If Seantrel said tomorrow, "I'm coming to Michigan" then I would guess the coaches would first try to fid a way to get him in without Barnsing someone and if they couldn't do that, then someone would get Barnsd.

that's awesome; I wonder if this will affect the way that UM continues its recruitment of the Talbotts.
