landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
Jeremy Clark news (Joining 2012 class)
I guess the mystery sixth final recruit was right under our nose the whole time.
A bit of a shock, given the fact that we lead for more 4 and 5 stars than we can take at this point, and this wont help that... but I trust the coaches on this one.
There have been rumors about a DB transferring, so this could be why the coaches wanted him (I did not give his name because it is not offfical, others please don't either)
Please not Cullen Christian...
did he already transfered
yeah we have 25 spots for the 2012 class if the rumors are true. I think we take 27 in this class.
Brown is the DB in question. GBW said on Friday it sounded like he was leaving and they're counting his spot as being vacant for next year.
Standard disclaimer that this isn' t 100 yet but no reason to think it isn't true either.
He was kicking the idea around about leaving before the season started, so no big surprise to hear he is leaving. Good luck kid.
wow, we're gonna have young DBs again, similar to RR's (2nd or 3rd?) year
Exactly, we'll be fine...Floyd should be back as a RS Senior, I would've thought going into the season he wouldn't get that 5th year, but he's earned it for sure.
Floyd and Countess will be the starters. Avery will be the 3rd CB...newsflash to those going nuts over losing Brown. That's our lineup RIGHT NOW! Woolfolk is hurt, that's your top 3. Plus Raymon Taylor has gotten experience, we have Richardson, Standifer and hopefully Wright coming in this class. Hollowell is going to factor in there as a RS Freshman. The future looks bright, I'm finally not worried about our back 7.
I'm worried about finding a couple pass rushers.
is going to be a beast, and I think he can be a situational pass rusher immediately
Kovacs, and Gordon back as well. DBs should be a strength next year, in terms of experience and skill
We're crying about having young DB's after losing a FRESHMAN CB?
That doesnt make any sense whatsoever.
Wasnt Brown the early enrollee tho
P.S. your logic is a freshman will turn into a senior in no time, right?
If it is true, I wish him luck then. Hopefully he finds a great spot somewhere.
Anyone know why Brown is thinking of leaving? I've heard that the coaches were impressed by him in the Spring.
Jeremy Clark has been very impressive his Senior year, by all accounts
I'm still a bit confused if this is a good thing or a bad thing - as I understand it if you Greyshirt you either don't enroll in college right away or pay your own tution the first year...was he considering switching to another school if Michigan wasn't willing to take him as part of the 2012 class?
It sounds like he was going to practically be an early enrollee for the 2013 class. He would not be with the team all next season, but would join on scholarship in January
wow he played so well the coaches now want to give him a scholly to be on the team asap. see that says a lot about this kid he was so happy to get the gray shirt offer but still went out every friday in kentucky and played without fear of injury or losing his grey shirt to actually get a full ride nice work kid and welcome to the university of michigan
He's putting up some crazy stats this year. Must be an great feeling to get that news from the coaches. Congrats to Clark.
Is there any chance that the staff wants him as a WR? Half of his 2010 film is him playing wideout and although he doesn't seem like a burner we are hell bent on taking two pass catchers. Unlikely considering our position with true WR recruits, but still a possibility.
with Darboh and Payton. That makes two last time I counted.
At 6'4 200lbs, he seems like a great switch to WR - especially with the possilbiltiy of Yuri joining this class as well, along with the questionable commits of Payton and Darboh. 6'4" makes a nice redzone target, and if his 40 times are legit, he could cause some serious damage at the WR spot. But either way, I like what I see on his tape - and obviously the coaches do too.
a "Hello Again" post.
great to hear this. lets see another hello post. good luck to Jeremy. hell of a statement
Jeremy deserves a different "hello" post than the original
In case this hasn't been seen before, check out his updated highlights. Mainly the first play. But also the others.
Love the play at about 1:30. You don't see any of the main parts of the play, but the parts you do see say it all.
The kid likes contact, that's for sure. Nice punt return where he destroy's the would be tackler near the goal line.
love his size and athleticism
Jeremy Clark Kent
Star ratings aside, this kid has put up more production than almost any kid in our 2012 class. Strength of competition, I know I know. But he's got size, athleticism, and he's shown he can put it together on the field. I'm very happy with this.
His five TDs are defensive touchdowns. Yes, please.
Does this send a signal where we stand in the Yuri Wright recruitment?
Wright is a corner. Clark is a safety and seems to have earned this offer this season.
Good for Clark.
I know The M staff was very upfront with him and grey shirting, but I'd rather not be the school that goes down that path frequently. Its a very les miles thing to do.
we need a monster safety.. why are we not going after that Maryland guy (Diggs?)?
we are going after him but he is a wr not a saftey. we made his top 8 cut list
Congrats to Jeremy!! Stuck with Michigan even when he started picking up interest from other teams.
I am more excited about this kid than most 4 stars cause this kid gets it. He has earned every part of this opportunity that the Michigan coaches have gave him. I really think this kid is a diamond in the rough and could be a 2 or 3 year started for us in the future. No way this star lets this opportunity slip through his hands he will make the most of this and surprise every one who doubted him ( not this board just in general)
If you can replicate that first play in the highlight reel, they'll be talking about you for a long time to come.....
If his fake 40 time is accurate he could be special.
His reel is awesome.
Like his size......looks like he has good lb instincts.
I'm thrilled for him. Willing to greyshirt, putting his future ahead of his present while using his present for what it's worth, and then being rewarded by his future sneaking up on him a little sooner than planned. And showing he deserves it.
I agree with you 100 percent he is what we all love to call a Michigan Man doing things the right way. Plus he looks like a stud on film with great measurables to go with it. I do not know if Kentucky is a hot bed like Ohio, PA, or Florida but Jeremy has done nothing in my mind to think he will not be a super sleeper like a Mike Hart or Nick Mangold ( 1 star out of high school) when we look back at his stelar career at the U of M when it is all said and done. He will outpreform every idea I think we have of him by the time he leaves.
If he was good enough for the 2013 class, he should have been good enough for the 2012 class. I'm glad that the coaching staff is doing the right thing by him and is giving him a spot in the 2012 class.
This is why I'm glad Tim is gone. If you're going to right a freaking Hello post at least know a little something about the kid. Tim bashed this kid up and down for basically no reason and said he wouldn't contribute. All I have to say is glad this kid if coming to Michigan and Tim is gone.
You do realize that attempting objectivity means that not every review can be a rave and that Clark actually hasn't contributed anything yet. You do know that, write?
He wasn't objective. He said the kid wouldn't contribute anything. He literally bashed a kid that he hadn't even watched. Yeah, that's objective....and write what? It's right.
More of a long strider rather than a speedster.
Has the makings of an absolute beast at safety though, hopefully he has the speed to be a legit ball-hawking FS. God knows any depth we could get that position is a blessing (thanks to you, Angry DB-hating Michigan God).
Kudos to the kid by the way. There were rumors of Kentucky, Tennessee dropping an offer to him but he stuck it out with Michigan.
