Jeff Moss story is out...

Submitted by Blue Indy on

Moss' "article" is about the PeruBall game/drill played at Exposure U. There were allegedly some injuries that took place, due to an absence of pads worn by the players, per the game's rules. He's comparing it to Morris' concussion debacle. Personally, the only thing I find "disgusting" about it is this: (If you are a parent of a child who was injured during the Exposure U. camp please contact me at [email protected].)

Bloody lips, banged-up noses and turf burns...and brain injuries. Didn't he say in the article that they were wearing helmets without other pads? How are there so many bloody lips and banged up noses with these helmets on. What a knob.

Is he seriously suggesting that Harbaugh's "murderball" is responsible for these horrendous turf burns at a football camp? My god.

Everyone Murders

Split lips and bloody noses at a football camp?  My stars, such ruinous allegations give me deep consternation.  The calumny arising from such noxious rumors could result in parents suffering from the vapors!  Someone quick, get me a julep and a fainting couch.

(I haven't heard the term "murderball" (or its homophobic counterpart) in years.  Many a recess was spent playing murderball, as a way of sorting out who was the toughest in the lot - a tip of the hat to mgokev for reminding us of that rite of passage.  If the allegations amount to Harbaugh's Peruball being what we used to call murderball, color me unconcerned.)

There is so much wrong with this. I'm just going to say it, this is some kind of weird, angry witch hunt. Moss is basically making things up and saying "but I haven't confirmed it yet," and hiding behind "sources." Please everyone, do not read this crap. Don't feed the trolls.

I guess my use of witch hunt was a little misunderstood. I didn't mean to say that Jeff Moss is anti-Michigan and trying smear Harbaugh's name. Rather, I meant he decide that he was going to paint this picture of Harbaugh being negligent with the health of prospective student-athletes. And, he was trying to find that even though it just wasn't there. As a result he is having to make some huge, and perhaps disingenuous leaps from playing a game that involves contact and some kind of reckless endangerment. In summary, I think Moss decided he was going to write a "shocking" story about the injuries and got so locked into it that he would basically make things up make it work (a la a witch trial where the only end option is death).

Lol at "we are still trying to completely confirm..." It's a football camp, not ballet. I have been at basketball camps where injuries happen too. Sprained ankles, elbows to the head, etc. this guy is a tool! Oh the outrage, my parents must have been mortified.

Nothing but, oh you will be so outraged if you really cared about Shane Morris. Then trying to make you think all of Harbaughs kids will be mistreated. Leap of faith ....

Moss is such a hack, all he does is talk shit about other writers and radio personalities... comes off like such a baby. Then puts out articles like this..

I know we don't tweet recruits, but is it ok to  mean tweet this guy (Jeff Moss).  What a joke.  I am saddened that I've lost minutes of my life reading this.

Obviously, you are correct.  The  article is such a click-bait piece of trash that is becoming more and more common on the internet.   It seems people publish this trash and there is almost no accountability whatsoever.

I'm not even gonna give him the clicks. Did he even have a quote from a player? I can't imagine anyone getting upset about an injury at a sports camp.

No he didn't. The entire article is essentially him saying he "heard" and "had reports of." The best (worst) part is at the bottom, where he posts that if your kid got hurt at the camp, please contact him. Essentially he's saying "I assume some kids probably got hurt playing football. Please god let someone contact me or I'm screwed."

I have attended nearly every one held at Michigan.  Women scrimmage with zero protective equipment and I can tell you that there is atleast one injury each year I have participated. There are sprained ankles and wrists and even blood (gasp!)  I recall three ambulance calls.  The thing is...that even though the academy is supposed to be NON contact...it is still football!

Fantastic how he draws a clear line in paragraph four:

And based on how the U of M fan base reacts to this article, you will know once and for all if Michigan fans REALLY cared about the health of Morris or if they were just using the issue as leverage to march on Brandon’s house and call for his immediate dismissal.

So anyone who disagrees with him only proves that they had an agenda for getting rid of Hoke/Brandon and only used the Morris incident to get what they wanted. Based on the responses of 99% of the people in this thread, we're all just a bunch of manipulative kronies. Hey, at least we know where we stand.

This actually demonstrates some great foresight on his part. He knew this was going to ruffle feathers, so what better way to ostricize anyone who disagrees with you by making it clear up front that anyone who dares to disagree is a loon.

Our sources said that after the first day there were several bloody lips, banged-up noses and turf burns.

Uhh...so? Seriously, lines like this are what feeds the notion that America's kids today are totally pussified. These are minor injuries.

An ambulance had to be called for one dislocated shoulder and there were other shoulder injuries that didn’t require 911. We received one report of a kid suffering a C4 vertebrae injury which we are still trying to completely confirm.

Dislocated shoulders are no fun. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that this is a more serious injury that could have long-lasting repercussions for the player. I'm kind of surprised that an ambulance had to be called for that, as I've seen a number of guys dislocate their shoulders without needing an ambulance called, but that's neither here nor there.

If the vertebrae injury turns out to be true, that is also serious. But the fact that Moss would include that in the article without having confirmed it seriously calls into question his credibility. That line itself (let alone the ALL CAPS AND EXCLAMATIONS!!!!!!!!!!11!1) blows a gaping hole in his credibility and professionalism. Is it a confirmed injury? If yes, then you've got a story and you don't need to resort to high-school level writing. If no, then you've got nothing and you make yourself look like a moron.

I don't even...dude is just throwing crap against the wall, hoping something will stick.
