Probably one of the better jobs a former Hoke assistant has landed. Mattison and Nussmeier are the only two of the top of my head I can think of that landed somewhere better.

Heck was one of the best coaches on the Hoke staff!

Heck was the ONLY good offensive coach we had through Hoke's entire tenure. Maybe Nussmeier, MAYBE.

Heck, Mattison, Manning, and the other DL coach, Montgomery are the only Power 5 coaches Hoke ever had.

Our WRs improved and were always a shining point on some very average teams.

I don't know why he's coaching TEs now, but if I were 85% of the schools in the country, I'd be happy to have Hecklinski. Illinois would fall into that 85% for sure.

In fact, if I were some non-power 5 teams...I'd hire him as an OC.

Wasn't he also the recruiting coordinator at Michigan?  He did a very good job with that as well.  Also, anyone who causes Dantonio to have a hissy fit is alright in my book (if you recall that highschool coaching clinic where Heck represented Michigan).
