Let me point out exactly how many games in the NFL Smith and Meyer have won - 0 AKA ZERO.  So they have little credibility when it comes to the NFL.  Especially as our coach has a top 5 win % all time.

You're right, Urban Meyer doesn't put kids in the NFL. No credibility on that issue. There's no debate Jim Harbaugh was/is an excellent NFL head coach. This isn't the NFL anymore. Meyer is the best in the world at what he does. Harbaugh, while having an impressive resume, has a ways to go to accomplish half the NCAA accolades. If I'm starting an NFL team Jim is one of the first five people I call. If I'm starting a college football team, Urban is. Can Jim get there? Yea sure obviously. But if you honestly believe kids think Urban Meyer can't get them into the NFL, then idk man.

What I said was Urban has neither played in the NFL, nor won a game in the NFL as a coach.  He is a great college coach.  I would like to see him try and prove himself as a good coach at the game's highest level.  Does Urban have the desire to prove he can win at the highest level?  He would IMO do better than Nick Saban, who was an abject failure.

On " who do you trust your future with" UM coaches or OSU Nat'l Championship Winning Coaches ? Austin Mack, who was the guy who had the flier and question posed to him seemed to be pretty clear on exactly who he believes in and who he doesn't. Spoiler Alert : it's not the guy with 17yrs experience and ZERO rings. "Last year, when I visited and (Smith) showed me around, showed me the depth chart, how they think I could be fit into their offense, to come in and dominate and be ready; that's when I knew Ohio State was the place for me. The coaches established to me that I was their guy, and I knew it wasn't just a sales pitch. They've proven it since."

17 years of coaching and has never been offered a HC job other than at a High School and NOT ONE RING in all 17 Years. Dude was the OC at Minn. and their offense was 110th out of 128 teams for Christ sake. If UM wants to claim someone is better than another teams coach they should pick one who actually is. Did you see how folks other than lame ass UM fans are responding ? You can polish a turd all you want, it still a turd. Zachary Smith Did respond to the poster. Here is what he had to say. Here's the question: How desperate are you when you have to shirk the facts? (Zach Smith, zero NFL WRs produced and coached? Really? You couldn't sneak that one by my fact-checking intern, and he's been dead for the last three years.)

In a position of leadership of young student athletes not only says something so embarrasing but blasts it out in public. It's amazing how Michigan can snap their finger and head coaches at Houston and Pittsburgh (not this instance) start "hating" . Harbaugh is so in these guys heads it's comical.

He's responding for the amusement if h.s. kids. I don't like the tactics of putting down others to make yourself look better. I especially think it's a bad strategy when you're attempting to put down the reigning national champs. Austin Mack, a top wr recruit just picked osu over us, so maybe we should just focus on our coaches accomplishments and not worry about osu. After we beat them this November, then we can take some shots.

Fisch is definitely a cool dude. I'd love to play for him. Like WD and MgoStamos said, Smith is pretty insecure. Go Blue!

who cares?  why do you need a precedent for everything? we are breaking ground every freaking day.  satelite camps, coach vs. coach comparisons.  why not?  we are not going to get better every day if we do the same thing that we did under Hoke.  we have to do something different.  we need intensity.  we need competition.  we need to stomp on OSU every once in a while.

wow, thats an impressive amount of rationalization to justify what's a pretty immature flyer. point blank.

look, im all for smacking ohio state the f**k up, but i'm not a blind fanboy. if the situation was reversed, this thread would have at least a 100 more comments complaining about how classless it is to single out a coach on michigan's staff, minding his own business.

ive said my piece. this comment tangent was started by making Smith out to be insecure for responding to a flyer attacking his professional failures, as if it was some kind of immature response. i certainly wouldnt take the high road if it happened to me.

A lot of what a Harbaugh led staff does is considered immature such as going for 2 up a bazillion or the jim Schwartz handshake and it's pretty tame compared to lying about Brady Hoke going to the nfl or lying to a recruit about where their position coach will be next year. I like the aggressive stance compared to apologizing about stakes and such.

Why is the flyer immature?  It's a straightforward side by side comparison.  The Ohio guys are the ones painting it as some type of negative politcal attack.

It's nothing like the negativity that other coaches used against us last year when Hoke was on the hot seat.  Why do you think we lost half our recruiting class?

bagheera, youre such a likeable guy that youve been banned mutiple times and are on your fifth or sixth account. youre known as mgoblog's chicken little. your biploar mood swings are tiring.

to sum it up, your complete and staggering lack of self awareness is literally breathtaking.

Apparently you're still stuck in Hoke's era of apologies and tip toeing in fear of stepping on toes because there isn't a problem with what he did. If you think that line of thinking will continue to help then you need to wake up. That flyer says nothing but the truth. If the truth is too shocking then oh well...better get used to it. This staff is pretty much "IDGAF" what the other teams think.

From an information standpoint, this is basically how recruiting has been done for decades.  Coaches make statements like this all the time.  Do you think Ohio State fans are ashamed of Woody Hayes for trying to direct kids towards Notre Dame when he thought they were leaning towards Michigan?  It's just that nowadays we have photoshop and can publish these posters and flyers that lay out all the same kind of stuff.

I said they used anything negative thing they could against Hoke. One year it was the NFL and then it was the hot seat.

I would bet they are saying this staff won't be here long or that they are difficult to get along with. That's' recruiting. What was on that flyer was not a lie. We can sit back and let them talk about the National Championship and say we hope to get there and lose the recruits or we can use the advantage we have of knowing the NFL, having the NFL connections and what it takes to get there.

I see nothing wrong even if they sent it to every wide receiver recruit and sent something similar to every recruit comparing our staff to theirs by position. It's recruiting.
