Per the twitters. No Michigan offer and there really was no mutual interest. This kid hails from our Cass Tech pipeline that will likely be owned by our Little Brother in 2015.

But here's my thought on that: we've basically owned Detroit for the last four years, but who do we have starting from Detroit? Thomas Gordon is one. Cam Gordon kinda (if we count Inkster), though even he's only starting because of injury, Raymon Taylor, though it sounds like be might not be starting, maybe DG too. That's not exactly crazy.

I said starters, but yeah there are other solid players from Detroit, just not a ton of high level players.

The worst case scenario: They will be happy with Campell at QB, and we will have plenty of good options too. Unless he wins a heisman and Speight/Morris/15' QB all are terrible, this is probably not a blow to Michigan. So, good for MSU. Now let's hope Campell goes the way of DatBull.

It sounds like Brian Cole is a pretty heavy Sparty lean as well, and that will be the tougher one to take, since he's an actual elite player. Let's see how Sparty does on the field the next few years and see if these top players stick around.

I hadn't heard he's a pretty heavy MSU lean, but yeah, things are trending their way. I read that UM may be changing their recruiting strategy with him I regards to recruiting him just as a WR.

Wolvin is right. Cole is an MSU lean presently. As more than a few folks have pointed out though, it's a long way to February of 2015...

My guess is that Michigan will get a better QB than Campbell in the class of 2015. I'm not really concerned about this one.

can get recruits like George Campbell, Damien Harris, Derrick Green, Hand, and Peppers to take official visits, let alone commit, then I will worry about recruiting. Jayru is a great pickup for them and congrats to him and Sparty. I think Michigan's staff knows what they are looking for and have proven they can get elite talent. Sparty's most highly touted recruit and soft verbal of the past two cycles, Drake Harris, flipped to us and blended into our recruiting class. He would of been the gem of their class. I think that is a fair synopsis of where recruiting is right now between the two schools.
