Or Brown wasn't ready for that info to be out there yet. Seems like a respectful kid and perhaps he wanted to let coaches know that he wasn't coming to their school.

Recruiting is about building relationships so I'm sure there's certain coaches he wants to let down gently and respectfully rather than on the internetz.

I didn't listen to Sam Webb this morning and he hasn't issued a "gut feeling" but he seems quietly confident about the direction of this one.

but it was a direct 2014 quote from him.  I think there are a couple of them out there.  This much has to be true...it's a factor of one degree or another.

I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but if one were to operate on the assumption that Brown has been ready to commit to Michigan for a while already, and has been in touch with Beilein, then he would logically have to wait until Michigan heard from the NCAA on Austin's medical redshirt. So with that announcement coming earlier today, coupled with the news out of UCLA, it makes sense that crystal ball predictions would be trending UM's way today.

If that is the case, I would look for a committment tomorrow. Any longer and it looks less likely.
