Sam said this morning Michigan is in a good position for Kareem, but he certainly wasn't gut-feeling it, and he did suggest that Alabama is a strong contender. I think he was referring to Kareem when he said that if Alabama was closer geographically that he would probably choose the Tide, but said that distance is a factor in his decision.
Listening between the lines, my interpretation of what Sam was saying was that he was optimistic, but would not be surprised if Kareem didn't commit to UM. Doesn't sound like it's a slam dunk for Michigan.

Couple of crystal balls came in for Kareem this morning (including a Bama insider).
Michigan and Devery Hamilton have had strong mutual interest for a while. He goes to Gilman, which is where Henry Poggi is from. I heard Stanford was the probable pick a few days ago, but it's basically been a battle between those two teams.
EDIT: Hamilton and Grant Newsome are pretty similar players if you're looking for a reference point, although Newsome is a little taller.
Devery Hamilton is HUGE and he is announcing between 4-5 PM today. Similar hints were given out with Onwenu.
