People always forget that.

Hart's "Little Brother" dig at MSU was in part a response to that unprovoked attack from Dantonio earlier that season.  The rest of the Michigan team did a little "moment of silence" counter-dig at MSU after the game too.

or else I'm sure you'd retract your "lucky" comment.

/S

They say they outgained us the whole day, and that far from a lucky break, on that last play Harbaugh made a huge error not doing max protect, and State did an all out blitz with no returner (which Harbaugh didn't notice). Therefore, Dantonio outcoached Harbaugh on that play, and won the game--no luck involved.

While I agree a TD block return was unlikely, any block most likely gives them a chance for a field goal. So it wasn't a return/Hail Mary versus a TD punt block. It's a return/Hail Mary versus a punt block.

But why I am writing about this? Signing day was my 12th step! I'm moving on.

And yet they'll turn right around and discredit UM's wins over Minnesota and Indiana because their respective coaches made bad calls at the end.

State wins at the end, arguably due to a coaching blunder = it's a WIN!

Michigan wins at the end, arguably due to a coaching blunder = INVALID!

Sparty logic.

Like Millen said, at that point in the season they were only giving Ruddock half the field to read. Harbaugh had a basic offensive plan against MSU and it was still enough offense to win the game. If they would have faced end of the season Ruddock, they would have gotten rolled. As far as that punt is concerned, if you send half of your team through the longsnapper at the exact second the ball is snapped, you should be in position to block the punt.

Is 10 wins something to be proud of? Especially when we lost to both rivals?

The fact is MSU had a better record than us, beat us, and went to the CFP. Until we beat them or OSU, I won't consider any season a success.

I guess I'm just over the cockiness or shit talking to rivals (especially coming from our staff). You're 0-1 Jay. Beat them once before talking shit. Celebrating Signing Day and then getting beat on the field is exactly what they poke fun at us for doing.

You realize the team was 5-7 two years ago and this was Harbaugh's first season here, right? 10 wins is something to be very proud about. That amazing MSU team you just got done blowing can't stop talking about winning 10 games in 5 of the last 6 years. So Dantonio can be proud of 10 win seasons but we shouldn't be? The lengths to which some people on this board defend MSU and Dantonio is fucking awful. We can talk all the shit in the world to Spartans because it will have zero effect on he game. So when Dantonio runs his mouth, I'm glad we don't just sit around and play with ourselves and apologize

I'm not sure stating three facts about them is blowing them, but you probably also won't like this too much either: they have won 11 games the last 5 out of 6 years, not just 10.

I don't really care about celebrating any number of wins though. We won't get a chance to play for a championship until we beat MSU, OSU, or both. We have a really embarrassing record against our rivals the last 10 or so years, lost to both last year, and now Jay wants to subtweet about recruiting. It's just dumb IMO.

I don't know if you knew this or not, but Harbaugh hasn't coached against our rivals for the last 10 years, so saying we have a horrible record against them dating back 3 coaches is just trolling. I don't need to come on to a Michigan website to read how amazing MSU is, I can go to MSU sites for that. There are way too many people, you included, who feel like it is their job to let us know how great MSU has been and they take any chance they can get to rattle off stats to remind us that we lost to them last year, as if we somehow forgot. If Jay would have come out and tweeted about us being a better team than them, I can see why you might not like that. But this tweet was a direct response to Dantonio trolling. So you are basically saying other coaches can talk all the shit they want about Michigan and as long as they beat us, we just have to take it like a little bitch. I love the confidence our coaches are showing.

They were references recruiting with the hope comment and who cares what they think about Jay's comment. I just like that this staff doesn't take shit and doesn't back down when the program is being attacked. I think it'll feed the players who are thinking "these coaches stand up for us." I'd much rather have a guy who promised Michigan would win in Columbus than a guy who apologized to Dantonio for disrespekting him by bothering to show up.
