Jay Feely's Ninth-Grade Son Hits 49-Yard FG

Jay Feely (Michigan's kicker from 1995-98) has a ninth-grade son named Jace who plays for Gilbert Christian HS in Arizona. Jay just posted a video on Facebook of Jace nailing a 49-yarder late in the game.

I don't know how to embed Facebook videos, so maybe one of you people who knows how to work the Internet can do that. In the meantime, go to Jay's page and watch it. It's awesome.

I would guess that it's a pretty big deal for a ninth-grader to be hitting 49-yarders. For context, Jay's longest FG at Michigan was 51 yards.

We have four years of Heisman candidate Quinn Nordin left, but we'll be looking for someone to replace him after that. I hope Harbaugh is already planning a sleepover at the Feely house.

So his hypothetical first season would be our first year without Nordin? Stars aligning.

I remember Jay Feely's second

I remember Jay Feely's second FG against Wisconsin in 98, where he got it off before he slipped on the turf.   Even managed to get a HUGE smile out of Lloyd.

Ugh... the fact that Jay

Ugh... the fact that Jay Feely has a son in the 9th grade makes me feel old. He lived on my floor freshman year in South Quad.

Yep, the timimg would be perfect

When Nordin graduates another stud kicker will come in to replace him, loved Jay Feely, one of the most solid kickers we ever had!

Its amazing how nice it feels knowing the kicking

Its amazing how nice it feels knowing the kicking game is a strength as opposed to a liability. for like 10 years there I would just assume Michigan couldn't make a fg. now it's, let's see how far it he can hit from.

I love the the fact we can be confident kicking.  Sign that kid up now! Coached for 8 years and dang 49trader as a 14 year old is super impressive.
