I have been impressed with him so far this year, seeing as how kicker was a question mark coming into the year. He is 5/6 on the year, I believe, with no PAT's missed. Since he is a senior I was kind of hoping Gibbons would be able to take the job away from him, allowing Gibbons to develop into a 4-year starter. But, I don't think I can complain so far...
Jason Olesnavage - Another Positive
He almost missed the first field goal and the last extra point wasn't exactly down the middle. He's okay, but he's not a strength.
I would have to disagree. That second field goal was over 40 yards into a stiff wind. It doesn't matter how it goes in as long as it does.
at least half of the kickers we have had in the last twenty years or so. He seems pretty accurate and has the ability to kick FGs from 40-45 yards. No doubt he's under the tutelage of Emperor Zoltan.
walk on. I think the guy deserves mad props for being consistent up to this point in the year. Has he been a glaring liability? I don't really think so. Also plenty of scholarship kickers can miss them from 40 yards in the rain.
He can still be a 4 year starter because he will probably be a redshirt for this year.
Personal source who knew the kid in HS said he was unbearably cocky. Hopefully a year of sitting behind a walk-on has changed that. I know Hagerup can kickoff as well as punt -- maybe he'll add field goals to his repertoire.
Because he can't throw
Missed a chippie in the ND game but otherwise I think he has been perfect. Stop complaining.
I'm just saying that he's an okay kicker.
