Is he really going to earn much playing time here? LB is one spot where I think we're pretty stacked for depth. One big reason for him might be playing time, which I'm sure PSU has a higher "grade" and easier route to actually playing, right?

I could also see him thinking that he would have more chance for playing time at Penn State - due to the sanctions. We are full of top LB recruits...PSU will have their sanctions for a few more years making their depth thinner than ours.
He might love UofM, but love the increased odds of playing time more.
So he's going to Alabama, then?

Yes, committing to Michigan seems like the most likely scenario, but one never knows with teenagers.

whichever route he goes, the other coaches can go on to their "Plan B" ASAP.
Maybe I have the PSU-goggled glasses on, but I still think PSU has a puncher's chance here. I want another fellow DLS grad as a PSUer! (Keith Karpinski was a Nittany Lion, and Detroit Lion, way back in the day).

If I were a betting man (and I'm not) I'd bet Michigan but I wouldn't feel too comfortable about the bet.
I FEEL like it's about a 60% chance he flips. I think the kid really wants to stick to his word and not only likes BO'B but that they were so aggressive so early for him. The turning down of LSU could be chalked up to location but I think he really likes it at PSU. I think Michigan is the only school he'd consider flipping for and for obvious reasons.

If he was going to stay committed to penn state, I don't think he would be making a special announcement and tell recruiting service guys like Tremendous and TomVH when he will be making this announcement.

I think the OP title is slightly wrong. It should read "Jared Wangler to ANNOUNCE decision in next 48 hours"
I'm pretty sure the decision has been made.
