Sam asked him directly about his interview on a Columbus radio show. Jamie cleared it up. He said he is 110% behind Rich Rodriguez.
He explained that during the interview, he had to take a long pause when asked about Harbaugh becoming the Michigan football coach and he tried to avoid saying something he might regret. He said it made him angry. He completely supports RichRod and he hope Jim H. does well and goes to the Rose Bowl, but he is absofuckinlutely behind RR.

since he graduated, he did have a short stint in the NFL...but when he did join the AD he has been a part of everything. jamie morris is a MICHIGAN MAN!!! and i'm not just saying this because he is my favorite michigan player of all time....

I heard the ENTIRE conversation live while driving back from business in C-Bus. I actually thought it was a very bland interview, Jamie walked his way through a mindfield that the interviewer would have loved to trip him up on. Bruce and Chris spielman did this segment. What neither of those guys realized is that Jamie still works for UM and they knew his closeness to the program obviously, but the controversy about this is a perfect example of how things are taken out of context. Jamie did pause and I thought to myself, he's making sure he doesn't say anything stupid right here. Bruce and spielman both had commented earlier how it's obvious that the free press or news listen to their show because their show had been quoted in the previous days....don't panic people, Jamie had RR's back.
FTR: why RR did a radio interview the day before on the same station is beyond me, that is an example where only bad comes from it. He needs to be smarter then that. I would also stop elaborating with the free press, they are looking for any nugget and he just needs to shut it down in his press conferences

I heard it too. Jamie has been associated with the Athletic Department since he graduated. You will always find him at Yost and he is a rabid hockey fan. In no way was he implying anything against the current coach or the former QB. He took time to make sure his words would not be misunderstood or misquoted. Jamie is a standout guy.
