easier said than done but does it seem like we are not focusing on solid recruits in michigan but rather going after longshots in ohio.....dont forget these longshots from ohio that they dont have room for also have offers from places like alabama, auburn, florida, usc

really need to impress James BIGGS Ross every time he steps on campus. We can't afford to lose him to one of are rivals. I think he will be impressed by Greg Mattision.GO BLUE!!!

In all fairness, we'll have 6 linebackers this fall with freshman eligibility - Ryan, Furman, Morgan, Jones, Poole and Clark.  Maybe not all of them end up being studs, but if half of them turn into good-to-very-good linebackers, any LB in our 2012 class will have to work his butt off too, if he wants in to the starting line-up as an underclassman (since Mike Jones and Cam Gordon are both sophs this fall, Demens a junior).

We might not have three All-Americans at LB, but we'll have competition at every spot for the foreseeable future.  Doesn't that feel nice to say.

We need Ross or RJS, and better yet both.  I hate hearing rumors on these two going elsewhere, but I suppose its to be expected at this point of the process.

Michigan will improve a lot defensively this fall - partly because of the staff and partly due to returning to many starters, but to the casual observer (almost everyone) this improvement will be solely due to the coaching change, making Mattison look even better than he is, if that's even possible.  It's like the Herrman or English effect, except with a very proven DC this time.

Combine that with Mattison's recruiting chops and all the other selling points UM has, and I bet we get a very good defensive haul this year and next.  As long as we keep bringing in solid offensive talent, this will again be a 2-team league very soon.
